CPP upgrades earnings outlook following stronger recovery in India | 18 January 2021

StockMarketWire.com - Financial product and services company CPP upgraded its core earnings guidance following a stronger-than-expected recovery in India.
For the year ended 31 December 2020, earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation was expected to be in a range of £7.1 million to £7.3 million, which was more than 10% ahead of the market consensus of £6.4 million, the company said.
A recovery in India, the group s key growth market, had been stronger than anticipated, both in its core business and in its majority owned business process management company, Globiva.

Senate President Vicente Sotto III on Monday filed a bill seeking to prevent groups working on the overthrow of the government from getting elected to Congress through the party-list system.
Senate Bill No. 1989, which would amend Republic Act 7941 or the Party-list System Act, was filed after Sotto disclosed that President Rodrigo Duterte wanted to amend the Constitution to prevent some House members, particularly the Makabayan bloc, from allegedly using government resources in advancing the interest of the Communist Party of the Philippines.
During a series of Senate hearings on red-tagging, the Makabayan bloc denied any they had any ties with the CPP and condemned the baseless accusations against them. ....

The mass trial of Cambodian dissidents continued on Jan. 14 with 61 supporters of the banned political opposition facing Phnom Penh Municipal Court amid calls for support from the international community.
