Frontiers | Green economy studies amongst the global climate change challenge between 2016 and 2022: a bibliometric review - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Green economy studies amongst the global climate change challenge between 2016 and 2022: a bibliometric review

Practical and theoretical advancements have not caught pace with rising scientific researches in the rapidly emerging economy undertaking a shift to a more sustainable economy, particularly green economy. After the UN adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, there has been a surge in interest in the green economy among academics around the world, and the literature on the issue is proliferating. This paper adopts the methodology of systematic review and thematic analysis to summarize the relevant literature on areas related to the theme of green economy. The literature was obtained...

Frontiers | Criteria for prioritizing selection of Mexican maize landrace accessions for conservation in situ or ex situ based on phylogenetic analysis - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Criteria for prioritizing selection of Mexican maize landrace accessions for conservation in situ or ex situ based on phylogenetic analysis

A combination of factors including migration, climate change and the encroachment of growing cities are associated with the extinction of species and a reduction in biodiversity. In Mexico maize landraces are an important source of germplasm that could be invaluable for future breeding programs in response a changing environment. Efforts to develop conservation strategies are hampered by the costs of housing and maintaining large germplasm collections. Effective criteria are therefore needed to identify rare genotypes that are in danger of being lost and to define minimal cost -effective core ...

Frontiers | Assessment of pesticide residues in vegetables produced in central and eastern Ethiopia - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Assessment of pesticide residues in vegetables produced in central and eastern Ethiopia

In Ethiopia, pesticides are widely used in vegetable production. However, if used incorrectly they may harm consumers of vegetables contaminated with pesticide residues, as well as producers handling the pesticides and lead to ecological damage. We performed a cross-sectional survey to assess pesticide residues level in vegetables produced in central and eastern Ethiopia. A total of 232 vegetable samples (91 tomatoes, 106 cabbages and 35 Swiss chard) were collected from fields and retail markets, and were screened for 35 pesticides (20 organophosphate, 14 organochlorine and a synergist, pipero...

Frontiers | Southwestern Atlantic ocean fronts detected from the fusion of multi-source remote sensing data by a deep learning model - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Southwestern Atlantic ocean fronts detected from the fusion of multi-source remote sensing data by a deep learning model

In the Southwestern Atlantic, the Falkland Current intrudes onto the South American shelf, resulting in the meeting of two water masses which are completely different in temperature and dynamic characteristics, thus generating the Southwestern Atlantic Front (SAF). Therefore, the SAF has prominent characteristics of thermal and dynamics. The current ocean front detection is mainly by performing gradient operations on sea surface temperature (SST) data, where regions with large temperature gradients are considered as ocean fronts. The thermal gradient method largely ignores the dynamical featur...

Frontiers | Comparison of vaccination schedules for foot-and-mouth disease among cattle and sheep in Mongolia - Vimarsana News

Frontiers | Comparison of vaccination schedules for foot-and-mouth disease among cattle and sheep in Mongolia

Vaccines are a critical tool for the control strategy for foot-and-mouth disease (FMD) in Mongolia where sporadic outbreaks regularly occur. A two-dose primary vaccination course is recommended for most commercial vaccines though this can be logistically challenging to deliver among nomadic pastoralist systems which predominate in the country. Although there is evidence that very high potency vaccines can provide prolonged duration of immunity, this has not been demonstrated under field conditions using commercially available vaccines. This study compared neutralising titres to a O/ME-SA/Panas...
