Already above where we should be in terms of High Temperatures for today. Take a look back to the north and west. You see colder air over syracuse and parts of canada. All of that is headed in our direction. We do have a full front moving through right now. This is going to kick up those winds out of the north and west today. You will feel them. It will bring in more clouds as we head through Morning Hours and into the afternoon and may even bring a sprinkle or two to parts of nantucket. Right now though its all about the mild air. 62 boston. 61 on the vineyard. 62 on nantucket. 55 degrees in worcester and 55 degrees right now in keene. So its a mild start. The first video at the height of that monster storm is just coming in. Stormteam 5 meteorologist Danielle Vollmar is tracking its path. And she joins us now. Danielle . Danielle thats right, karen. I was a very strong storm earlier in the week. In fact, the strongest hurricane on record in both the eastern pacific and the Atlantic Basin but since then, coming inland it has weakened. Now a category one hurricane with winds of just 75 miles an hour and gusts up to about 90 miles an hour. It is also moving pretty quickly to the north and east at about 21 miles an hour. Now its already brought a lot of rain for parts of mexico. Anywhere from about 10 to 11 inches in spots. And expected in the next 24 hours to bring any with from 812 inches in mexico. Its chilly if youre stepping outside the door right now. Temperatures are in the 20s at the 8 00 hour in orange, jaffrey , nashua, portsmouth. Norwood even checking in at 27 degrees but temperatures warming up in boston to 39. 40 on nantucket. As we go through the next 12 hours, say, in the merrimack valley, notice well see sunshine through about lunchtime and then the clouds start to increase. Temperatures will respond to the sunshine though into the low to even mid 50s for high temperatures, but the big story is in the last 24 hours, temperatures have dropped about 1015 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. Just watch out for the next couple of hours as these showers pass through the region. You can see them right now on our radar from Southern New Hampshire back to the north shore. Down from Worcester County and as far south as hartford, connecticut. There is some heavier bands coming through just south of boston, near brockton. You then it will be pushing along the south shore. A couple pockets of heavier rain up to the north towards lynne moving towards also the gloucester area. And then farther to the west you notice the showers start to thin out and become real spotty in nature. That is the trend. We are going to dry out through the day. Its associated with this cold front that is pushing through right now. Temperaturewise, were in the upper 40s, low 50s, even a few upper 50s now on nantucket. Danielle good morning, frank temperatures have warmed up now into the 40s for the most part except for keene at 32 degrees but were in the mid to upper 40s now on the cape. Low 50s on nantucket. In the last 24 hours, temperatures have dropped about 1020 degrees cooler than this time yesterday. So that is the big story today. Its a cold start out there, and of course when we start out cold we dont warm up all that much more. Winds are out of the north and west. Youre going to feel them anywhere from 1015 miles an hour. Sustained. And that is where theyre going to stay through the afternoon. Its also creating a wind chill which makes it feel more like the mid 30s in worcester, like the lower 40s in boston and upper 30s in portsmouth. So over the next 12 hours, lots of sunshine.
