The technology that makes a significant reduction in the weight of the jacket is critical because it will increase soldier comfort while maintaining survivability
DRDO unveils lightweight bulletproof jacket for defence forces

These bulletproof jackets are around 1.4 kg lighter than medium-sized bulletproof jackets. The development is significant with the fact that the reduction of the weight of a bulletproof jacket by a few grams is also a big thing, but the jackets made by it are lighter by 1,400 grams.

Report: India's AIP System Test A Step Towards Countering Chinese PLA Navy's Ongoing Expansion

An Scorpene-class submarine of the Indian Navy.
The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) successfully conducted the final test of the land-based prototype of the Air Independent Propulsion (AIP) system in Mumbai on Monday (9 March).
The AIP system will be retrofitted into the Kalvari class submarines, whose third model INS Karanj is set to be commissioned on Wednesday.
This new AIP system means the diesel submarines can stay underwater for longer periods of time and become more silent than nuclear submarines.
This latest development is seen as India’s conscious efforts to build capabilities and counter the emergence of the Chinese naval force.

India is currently developing a 160-km range version of the Astra air-to-air missile.
Earlier today, the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) tested its Solid Fueled Ducted Ramjet (SFDR) technology with a demonstration flight from the Integrated Test Range off the coast of Odisha.
The test, DRDO said, helped prove many technologies and sub-systems, including the ground booster motor and nozzle less motor.
The development of SFDR technology will enable India to make its own long-range air-to-air missile, which could mirror the capabilities of the best missiles in this class, like MBDA’s Meteor, which the Indian Air Force uses on its Rafales.
