To make a 30second comment on what you just said. I am not going to yield to you. Im going to ask my questions of the gentlemen. The president has dispensed the law, suspended the law until he says otherwise. That is not what you normally think of as prosecutorial discretion, typically involves suspensions of criminal law, not the Immigration Laws, at least the civil aspects of immigration. And president obama sites an opinion of the justice Departments Office of Legal Council to justify his executive legalization of millions of unlawful aliens. Isnt it true that the Legal Counsel doesnt have a particularly great track record when it comes to questions of executive power. The Obama Administration in 20 ....

Daniel discusses the governments role in cyber security. Now a House Judiciary Committee hears testimony on president obamas executive order on immigration. Witnesses include legal experts who express whether the president has Legal Authority to issue the order. This is three hours, 40 minutes. Good afternoon, this hearing of the Judiciary Committee will come to order. Without objection, the committee has authorized us to take this mornings hearing on president obamas executive overreach on immigration. U ill begin by recognizing myself for an Opening Statement. I also want to point out to the members and to the audience in attendance today, youre all welcome to be here, but rule 11 of the house rules provides that the chairman of the committee m ....

The United States, i will follow up on your comment here, are we ready to be able to expand . Or do we need to expand refining capabilities in the United States if were going to have a mix of more sweet and then the heavier crude from canada . Who wants to go with that one . Well, its difficult to convince refiners to expand capacity when the demand here in the u. S. Is going down. Typically, refineries are built closer to where consumers are. But we have a terrific advantage in technology and low natural gas prices. Natural gas is used as a refinery fuel that make our refineries the best in the world. Taking advantage of those situations i think is what the refiners are doing exporting products into the Global Market. Ms. Gordon . I could say that in terms of what was said earlier,

President obama has Just Announced one of the biggest congressional power grabs ever by a president. He has declared unilaterally that by his own estimation, almost 5 million unlawful immigrants will be free from the consequences of their lawless actions. Not only that, he will in addition bestow on them work permits and other benefits. And president obama has stated over 20 times in the past that he does not have the constitutional power to take such steps on his own. And has repeatedly stated, i am not a king. Well now ask for the video be rolled. The notion that i can just suspend deportations through executive order, thats just not the case. Because there are laws on the books that congress has passed, there are enough laws on to the books by congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system, that for me simply through executive order ignore those congressional mandates would not conform wi ....

That will be signed by the president , so that will be underway. Two, we just signed a bill on transportation. In l. A. , we have seen major rojects Going Forward. The purple line is moving west toward the ocean. We were able to secure funding that will help us move forward with that project, that is costing several billion dollars. We secured close to 800 million in federal loan moneys. Thats about 2 billion to help extend that subway line to the west. We recently secured about two thirds of a billion dollars for what is being called the regional connector line owntown. If you try to travel mass transit downtown on the trains and subways, you often have to get off one to get on another. With the regional connector, it will be a seamless trip. It will be a lot more convenient for people who want to use mass transit to get around. We got a grant commitment from the federal government for two thirds of a billion dollars and about ano ....
