Officer Who Mocked Lebron James Gets Fired

Officer Who Mocked Lebron James Gets Fired
A law enforcement officer whose social media video mocking basketball star LeBron James went viral has been fired, an Idaho official confirmed Thursday.
Nate Silvester, who was working for the Bellevue Marshal’s Office when he made the video, was suspended in April while an investigation took place. He was later allowed to return to work but placed on probation.
During the week of May 20, while working, Silvester violated several city and state policies, Mayor Ned Burns said in a statement.
“After his previous policy violations Deputy Marshal Silvester was placed on probation and was on, what is called, a ‘last chance agreement’ with his superior officers. Because of his continued policy violations, the Marshal has terminated Mr. Sylvester [sic],” Burns said.

Bellevue, ID – The Bellevue deputy marshal who was suspended without pay for mocking NBA star LeBron James in a now-viral TikTok video just landed a book deal and is establishing a foundation to help support law enforcement officers.
Belleview Deputy Marshal Nate Silvester said the ability to establish the foundation was made possible by generous donations to his Go Fund Me campaign, which has raised over $510,000 so far.
The veteran officer said he is also earmarking a portion of the funds to give to the First Responders Children’s Foundation.

James had threatened Columbus Police Officer Nicholas Reardon, tweeting, "YOU'RE NEXT" alongside a photo of the officer, after he shot and killed Bryant in April when she endangered the lives of multiple civilians with a knife. However, James later said he regretted the tweet.
I fueled the wrong conversation about Ma’Khia Bryant and I owe it to her and this movement to change it. Thank you @fabiolacineas for educating us about Ma’Khia and her story and why this needs to be about her. https://t.co/Owh1vDJWXi#sayhername#Blacklivesmatter

As reported by KTVB, Silvester has since signed a book deal with Di Angelo Publications and the working title of it is Never Off Duty. The officer's April 24 video began with him sitting in his patrol car pretending to tell dispatchers to bring on LeBron James to address an imaginary disturbance outside of his vehicle.

“You don’t care if a Black person kills another Black person, but you do care if a White cop kills a Black person, even if he’s doing it to save the life of another Black person?” the deputy marshal asked in the video during a fictional phone conversation with James.
The Bellevue Marshal’s Office addressed the matter Wednesday, calling it “a personnel issue that is being dealt with internally.”
“Bellevue Marshal’s Office is aware of the extreme controversy regarding Deputy Marshal Silvester’s viral TikTok,” the organization wrote on its official Facebook page. “The statements made do NOT represent the Bellevue Marshal’s Office. The Bellevue Marshal’s Office always demands that our Deputies engage with our citizens in a friendly and professional manner. This is NOT how we expect our Deputies to act on duty or use city time.”
