In the Long Run, a sweetly comic series set in 1980s London, is based on the real-life childhood of an actor best known for intense dramas like The Wire and Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom.
In the Long Run, which wrapped up its third season last year, is a comedy based on actor Idris Elba's childhood in the Holly Street Estate, a racially diverse public housing community in the Hackney borough of London. Set in the fictionalised Eastbridge Estate in the early '80s, Elba, who created the series for Britain's Sky One, plays Walter Easmon, who, like Elba's actual father, Winston, immigrated to England from Sierra Leone and worked in a nearby American-owned car parts factory.

A parish council meeting that quickly descended into chaos, shouting and insults being traded has quickly become one of the most talked-about things on the internet, inspiring hundreds of memes.
The Zoom call between the members of Handforth Parish Council, which reportedly took place on 10 December, has recently emerged on social media after the original footage was posted on the Cheshire council website.
The meeting that took place that evening got off to a rocky start (with someone mumbling "f*** off") and only became more bizarre from there. Within a few minutes, complete anarchy had broken loose in the meeting as several members were ejected prompting shock and laughter.

Late last night a compilation of a Handforth Parish Council meeting was uploaded to YouTube and the 18 minute video has gone viral. Everyone is obsessed with one woman, Jackie Weaver, expertly shutting down a council member and removing him from the meeting.
The video was filled with many more iconic moments including the council member on Aled’s iPad getting very angry at Jackie’s decision, Julie interrupting the meeting from her iPad and Sue asking people to apologise to Jackie. In short, it’s become a modern classic that will probably be nominated for an Oscar or at least see Jackie on Strictly with Anton Du Beke.
