Crescent Springs business takes to Facebook to try to save its 199-foot flagpole

When John Huffman erected a 199.35-foot flagpole by his Crescent Springs business, it was to honor his mother-in-law who fled Cuba to come to America.
Huffman said it was also for active-duty military, veterans and first responders for ensuring the "freedom that we all enjoy."
“It’s such a dramatic story and I’ve heard so many firsthand horror stories over the past 27 years of being married to her daughter, my wife, that I really did become proud to be in this country," Huffman said. "So much is taken for granted.”
