Fullback Reece Walsh and standoff Kodi Nikorima both return from injury lay-offs along with rookie centre Rocco Berry.
Together starting props Addin Fonua-Blake and Lodge will give the Warriors one of, if not, the biggest front rows in the club's history; the 189cm Fonua-Blake weighs in at 123kg, the 191cm Lodge 117kg.
With Lodge starting, the seasoned Kane Evans moves to the bench alongside fellow props Bunty Afoa, Leeson Ah Mau and Ben Murdoch-Masila.
Lodge, who has made 77 appearances for the Wests Tigers and Brisbane in his disrupted career, provides a major selection boost at a challenging time.

ICC says 'insufficient evidence' in Al Jazeera corruption claims

Daily Times
May 17, 2021
The International Cricket Council (ICC) said Monday there were “insufficient grounds” to bring charges against five people featured in an Al Jazeera television programme about corruption in the game.
‘Cricket’s Match Fixers,’ broadcast by Al Jazeera on 27 May 2018, alleged that two matches were fixed: India v England in Chennai in 2016 and India v Australia in Ranchi in 2017.
The ICC anti-corruption unit’s investigation, which focussed on the claims made by the programme, the suspects who were part of it, and how the programme gathered evidence, concluded that there was “insufficient credible and reliable evidence” to pursue the matter.

Former Sri Lanka batsman Gunawardene cleared of corruption charges

Daily Times
May 11, 2021
LAHORE: Former Sri Lanka batter Avishka Gunawardene has been cleared of both existing corruption charges against him, and is free to participate in cricket immediately. Gunawardene had never directly been charged by the International Cricket Council (ICC), but in May 2019 had attracted two charges by the Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) over the 2017 iteration of the T10 tournament played in the UAE. These charges related, essentially, to soliciting or enticing a participant to breach anti-corruption regulations, and also failing to disclose any potential corruption or suspicious approach.
Gunawardene, however, maintained his innocence. He was suspended from his coaching roles by Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) as soon as the ECB charges were announced, with the SLC CEO stating that the board was unaware that Gunawardene was being investigated. Over the years, Gunawardene had become a highly reputed coach, for both the Sri Lanka A and Emerging teams, with many players crediting him for having been a positive influence over their careers. Also dropped are three of the four ECB charges against Nuwan Zoysa, though Zoysa remains banned for six years after being found guilty of separate charges by the ICC. The ICC’s anti-corruption unit has been carrying out a long-term investigation in Sri Lanka, and over the past five years, has found former cricketers Sanath Jayasuriya, Jayananda Warnaweera, Dilhara Lokuhettige as well as Zoysa, guilty of breaching the anti-corruption code. Gunawardene is the first to be cleared of all charges against him.

Sri Lanka's Nuwan Zoysa banned for six years by ICC for corruption

Sri Lanka’s Nuwan Zoysa banned for six years by ICC for corruption
Staff Report
LAHORE: Former Sri Lanka pace bowler Nuwan Zoysa has been banned from all cricket for six years after an International Cricket Council (ICC) anti-corruption tribunal found him guilty of breaching its code, the sport’s governing body said on Wednesday. The ban for 42-year-old Zoysa, who has also had coaching stints with the Sri Lanka women’s team and the men’s ‘A’ squad, is retroactive from October 31, 2018 when he was provisionally suspended, the ICC added.
“Nuwan played 125 matches for Sri Lanka, attending a number of anti-corruption sessions during a decade-long international career,” Alex Marshall, ICC General Manager — Integrity Unit, said in a statement. “In his role as a national coach, he should have acted as a role model. Instead, he became involved with a corrupter and attempted to corrupt others. “Contriving to fix a game betrays the basis of sporting principles. It will not be tolerated in our sport.” In November, Zoysa was found guilty of match-fixing by an independent anti-corruption tribunal. Zoysa was provisionally suspended in 2018 and charged with three offences under the anti-corruption code, including “being party to an agreement or effort to fix” a match.

Ex-Sri Lanka Test player gets six-year ban for match-fixing

Sports
April 29, 2021
COLOMBO: Sri Lanka’s former Test cricketer and bowling coach Nuwan Zoysa was banned for six years on Wednesday by the International Cricket Council for match-fixing during a T10 tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
The ban on the 42-year-old is backdated to October 2018 when he was suspended pending an investigation into his conduct at the inaugural Sharjah tournament in 2017.
“Contriving to fix a game betrays the basis of sporting principles,” the ICC’s anti-corruption chief Alex Marshall said. “It will not be tolerated in our sport. “In his role as a national coach, he should have acted as a role model. Instead, he became involved with a corrupter and attempted to corrupt others.”
