You dont have to be best friends with 200,000 people. But you can develop relationships with a few key members of your sector and your precinct and your area and develop those kinds of relationships where it becomes a twoway flow of information. Information on safety and you can provide information to us on crime and what is important in your community. The days of Police Departments going into the community and telling them what their problem is i think has passed. We are now at a point where we are going to the community and the community is helping us determine what our priorities should be. Where we should be attacking crime. What the most important thing that they want addressed is. Sometimes its not even crime. To beome that focal point the guardians of the community, not the warriors.
