TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Florida State track and field team will head to Blacksburg, Va., for the 2021 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships. Events will begin on Thursday and conclude on Saturday at the Rector Field House on the campus Virginia Tech. Friday's and Saturday's action will be streamed on ACCNX. Quick Sprints The Noles enter the 2022 ACC Indoor Track and Field Championships as the defending champions on the women’s side. The Noles have won 17 (13 men’s, 4 women’s) ACC Indoor Championships. Head Coach Bob Braman is in his 18th year as the head coach of the Florida State track and field team Braman leads all active ACC coaches with 15 ACC Indoor Championships. Braman brought in three new assistant coaches in Alex Midgett (Distance), Doug Reynolds (Throws) and Leevan Sands (Jumps). The Tyson Invitational features 18 combined men's and women's teams that were ranked inside the top 25 of the weekly USTFCCCA national ranking index. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Trey Cunningham and Lauren Ryan were named the ACC Performers of the Week Tuesday afternoon. Cunningham and Ryan are the fourth and fifth Noles to be named ACC Performers of the Week this season joining Alonie Sutton, Don'drea Swint and Edidiong Odiong. Cunningham had a record-breaking weekend in the 60m hurdles at the Texas Tech Open. Cunningham broke his own school record clocking in at 7.46 which was also a facility record. Cunningham's time is the fourth-fastest time in collegiate history and is the fastest time ever recorded in the ACC. Trey has won this award many times, but today's might be the most impressive after what he did last weekend in Lubbock, Head Coach Bob Braman said. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The No. 13/26 Florida State track and field teams will continue their indoor season this Friday and Saturday at the Texas Tech Open in Lubbock, Texas, and the Bob Pollock Meet in Clemson, S.C. The Noles will send primarily sprinters and jumpers to Lubbock while the distance runners and the throwers will head to Clemson. The Texas Tech Open will be streamed live on ESPN+. Quick Sprints The Bob Pollock Invite is the third and final time the Noles will travel to Clemson this season. The Noles previously traveled to Clemson on Dec. 3 for the Clemson Invite and on Jan. 14-15 for the Clemson Opener. The Noles will be one of eight Power Five teams to compete at the Texas Tech Open. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - Florida State track and field athletes Don'drea Swint and Edidiong Odiong were both named ACC Indoor Track Performers of the week by the Atlantic Coast Conference Tuesday afternoon. Both Don'drea and Edidiong ran amazing races last weekend, Head Coach Bob Braman said. Both are in the top four in FSU history in their respective events which is really impressive for a season-opening race. Both athletes had stellar performances this past weekend at the Clemson Invitational. Swint clocked the third-fastest time in FSU history in the 60m dash on Friday with a time of 6.53. Swint's time leads the ACC and is third nationally. Swint's previous top time was 6.63 at the Bob Pollock Invitational last January in Clemson. This is the second time Swint has been named the ACC Indoor Track Performer of the week with his first honor coming on Feb. 3, 2021.
