To reopen schools as soon as possible this is new coronavirus cases reach new heights in the last 24 hours. The country has reported more than 195,000 new covid cases and close to a 100,000 patients are currently in the hospital because of covid this is according to the covid tracking project in california nearly 21,000 new cases were reported in a single day. This is the most new cases recorded in a single day in the state since the pandemic started california has recorded more than a million total cases so far. In the bay area more than 153,000 cases have been recorded and nearly 2000 people have died. And despite a surge in infections, a San Francisco delegation has now sent letters to several School Districts in the bay area demanding that school

Urging for more plans to be made to kron 4 cylinder sackey joins us now live from outside of San Franciscos district headquarters for the School District she has more now on this push to get kids and teachers back in the classroom. Well despite the surge in cases and hospitalizations lawmakers and doctors say that school should still reopen as soon as they can and based on data from some of the other schools that reopened in the bay area with. In Person Learning they say that actually schools are one of the safer places to reopen during the pandemic. Do believe that schools need to be prioritize. Tomorrow morning. Thats 1 1 2 to three inches of rain probably more than that and then as we look at the rainfall forecast numbers, these are conservative numbers. Im expecting more rain in the hills than we have forecast. Rain so far has been relatively light, but thats going to change overnight. It means the morning commute is going to have a lot of water on the roadways. This is an Atmospheric River coming from the Hawaiian Islands and its focused on us here it goes. Theres the Hawaiian Islands. You see it right up into here and over the next 12 to 24 hours, about 36 hours, well see heavy rain especially in the coastal hills. So thats the overview.
