. welcome back, everyone. i m alex witt along with ayman mohyeldin. we ll talk about this big story this morning. the resignation of national security adviser michael flynn, but first a look at the morning s other top stories. the senate has confirmed two more of the president s cabinet nominees. steve mnuchin was sworn in as treasury secretary. in an increasingly rare show of bipartisan vote, the senate voted 100-0 to confirm david shulkin for veterans affairs. a federal judge has denied emergency efforts to continue with the controversial dakota pipeline. the sioux tribe said it would damage water but the judge ....
To be legal and constitutional. there s going to be a whole bunch of rulings like this coming in the next couple of weeks so we re going to go through fits and starts with this. it s not going to be a pretty sight but that s the way these lawsuits started up. they started as emergency efforts to get people into the country who were in danger of being sent back home again. we re now getting into the merits of whether the executive order is legal and constitutional but i would guess you ll see conflicting rulings like we did today and these rulings stopping and starting. the main thing to think of is as a result of this ruling tonight by a federal judge in seattle, nothing changes. except that now presumably these people can get visas again when the consular offices open again on monday. wow. unless another court intervenes and puts a stay so you know this stuff is going to play out for a while, nothing changes right away. ....

Brought, volunteering completely. then there was this sister norma that got involved. she got the catholic charities of america involved. so there s. pop-up volunteer sites in texas. talk about that. it s gone to these private charities that are really doing a lot of work. it s a really a s mmazing private/public partnership. they re teaming up with save the children, an international ngo. and they are used to being on emergency efforts to help kids on the ground. they are already in syria helping refugees there. so they know what these kids really need. and they provide a safe place. the kids are able to color. they re able to take a break while their mothers are able to take a shower, have good, get clean clothes for their next leg of the journey. and it s popping up not only in texas, but in marrieta where the massive protests are taking ....
