and, bret, because this is a state case, a presidential pardon would do no good for the potential targets of this investigation. and georgia also has strict laws concerning pardons. they are actually handled by a state panel that can only take action after you've served all your time and paid all your fines. bret? >> bret: jonathan, i mentioned at the beginning but earlier today reuters had this post and they reported that fulton county temporarily published a list of charges against the former president before removing it from their website. what came about all of that? >> yeah. it certainly fueled a lot of speculation. the clerk of courts very rapidly issued a statement calling the document fictitious. the statement went on to say documents that do not bear an official case number, filing date, and the name of the clerk of courts in concert are not considered official filings and should not be treated as such. the trump team quickly fired back in a statement of their own

with trump's personal lawyer. in that meeting critics say rudy giuliani tried to convince georgia legislators to overturn the election based on what they say are discredited allegations of improper vote counting in fulton county. others in mr. trump's circle are accused of allowing a computer forensic's team unauthorized access to election equipment data in georgia's rural coffee county. fulton district attorney fani willis is expected to broad racketeering laws as she has in previous cases such as a test cheating scandal involving educators in atlanta public schools. she talks about how it's a good tool to be able to show a jury the broad scope of an alleged crime. and bring in all sorts of different elements that maybe if she was going for a more tailored charge she wouldn't be able to bring up as evidence in the case. >> on social media, the former president posted how can they charge me in georgia in the phone call was perfect. witch-hunt.
