on bond. he is still in jail, even went before a judge today and i want to play what happened for folks. >> did you find that based on the charge against, if there are grounds for bond to be denied at this point. so i'm going to go ahead that find that your risk to the -- additional felonies and flee jurisdiction. i'm going to deny bond. >> there is no way that i am a flight risk, i showed up before the president. >> how exactly does harrison floyd fit into this election case, stephen? >> right, so harrison floyd is one of several people accused of trying to harass a fulton county election worker, ruby freeman, into falsely admitting that she committed election fraud. ruby freeman and this video of her and her daughter counting votes at state farm arena at one of the polls closed in november of 2020 is a central figure in all of this thing
and, in doing that, as you pointed out, this is about getting the case to federal court. like meadows, they're saying that we thought we were going to be presidential electors. we thought the president was telling us to do that. therefore we thought we were acting in a federal capacity, therefore we should be tried in federal court. that seems like a stretch when they weren't even officially electors to say that we were quasi-electors and therefore we should get federal protection. but, that is the strategy they are going with and i think, dependent on trump, that this is at trump's direction, kind of showing the attention between some of these defendants at a critical phase here. >> absolutely. great reporting, i was shocked when i saw that everybody was trying to claim they were a federal official. steven, look. we have the georgia case, we have these codefendants that are happening, all of the georgia defendants except one were booked and then released. and harrison floyd is the one person who is not been released
in most judicial circuits, there is court rules that kind of govern what judges are able to do and not do. and in this case, mr. harrison, because he was already indicted by a fulton county jury, laura, as you know, he was not entitled to what is commonly referred to as a first appearance hearing or a commitment hearing wherein a magistrate will look at his charges, inform him, and set bond. in this case, because the case is already indicted, it is technically assigned to judge scott mcafee. judge scott mcafee will make all decisions with respect to his case. so as the judge in this case today indicated on the record, judge mcafee will consider bond for him at the arraignment hearing. >> important to note. jessica, thank you. and floyd is accused of playing a role in arranging a meeting between a fellow co-defendant and treveon custddy and electio
charges and inform him and will set bond. in this case, because the case is already indicted, it is technically afind to judge scott mcafee. he will make all decisions with respect to his case. and so as the judge in this case today indicated on the record, judge mcafee will consider bond for him at the arraignment hearing. >> important to not. thank you. and floyd is accused of playing a role in arranging a meeting between a fellow co-defendant and also fulton county election worker ruby freeman. she allegedly pressured and threatened freeman that's no small offense considering we know what they are said to have endoord about the pressure campaign against them. what more can you tell us, jessica? >> yeah. so, you know, the specifics of this case kind of how they pressure -- i mean, particularly we can see this is something that was really a hardship for
not a household name. remind us who he is and why hasn't he been released? >> unlike his co-defendants, floyd was not able to negotiate a bond agreement with the d.a.'s office prior to his surrender. that meant he had to stay in custody at the jail. he's the only 1 of 19 defendants that's still in the jail. now floyd is the former leader of black voices for trump. prosecutors here allege that floyd was involved in this plot to intimidate and pressure an election worker into false ly admitting that she committed massive fraud against trump during the 2020 election. on friday just yesterday, floyd there in court before a judge learned that he will remain in jail because it is ultimately judge mcafee who has been assigned this case, who will decide his bond. listen. >> i'm going to go ahead and find yourself a risk to commit

additional felonies and a risk to flee the jurisdiction. >> i got on a plane and voluntarily came here. i'm already on pretrial supervision. i have no issues with being on pretrial supervision. there's no way i'm a flight risk. >> i understand, mr. floyd. your bond is not going to be decided by me. it's going to be decided by the judge. he was assigned to handle your case. >> at last check, floyd has no representation. floyd told the judge that he could not afford a private attorney and the judge told him he did not meet the eligibility standards of a public defender. on a side note, floyd does face a separate charge of simple assault for allegedly assaulting an fbi agent at his home to serve him a subpoena to appear before a grand jury in washington, d.c.

now being booked in fulton county, and you're not going to be president and you are not going to get out of this. he might have some scheme to get out of it, but you, jen ellis, and the rest are not getting out of this and, the reality of that is really really sets and as you watch him go in with his big failings and how different that is to reduce giuliani the other day and everyone else. >> one of his codefendants should be noted is not getting out. has been booked and is in the fulton county jail, and we do not know how long erickson floyd will be held in jail because he is caught a central charge pending but for allegedly assaulting fbi agents who tried to subpoena him to testify to the supreme jury. at least one of them is not getting out of jail already, and there are 18 folks who were charged alongside trump. >> trump knows how he was treated before he was president, he was notoriously bitter about what he felt was mistreatment
