Cognizant India bribery case: Cognizant drags law firm Bohrer PLLC to court alleging overbilling

Bohrer PLLC was one of five law firms hired by Cognizant’s former chief legal officer Steven E. Schwartz to defend him in an India bribery case relating to construction of the company’s campus in the outskirts of Chennai.

Chennai:Cognizant Technology Solutions Corp. has filed a lawsuit against a New York-based law firm, accusing it of fraudulently overbilling at least $20 million to the IT services company.
Cognizant’s petition filed in the District Court for the Southern District of New York alleged that Bohrer PLLC and its managing partner, Jeremy I. Bohrer, had billed it millions of dollars in fees and expenses for work that it either did not perform as invoiced, or performed for a fraction of the billed cost. ....
