KNBN NewsCenter1 February 24, 2021 SPEARFISH, S.D. Black Hills State University was recently placed on the Military Friendly gold list, which is the highest level of service a college or university can provide for veterans or active duty personnel. Military Friendly is a website that evaluates educational institutions using public date to determine how military friendly a school is. BHSU made this list by helping military personnel in a number of different ways, especially for their work in helping veterans who no longer have anymore GI Bill money. Greg Krajewski, Veteran Resource Coordinator for Black Hills State University, said, “There is a program for veterans to receive free tuition; they just need to go online and apply for it on the South Dakota Veterans Department website. They can get for every qualified month of service they’ll get a months worth of eligibility for that free tuition up to 48 months.”
