Over the last two weeks, national championships in Europe followed the World Cup and closed out the alpine competition season for many racers. For some countries, it’s been two years since national championships have been held. While many World Cup athletes chose to kick back and forgo these events after a long season, here’s a recap of the all the action from across the pond. The U.S. commences its national championships next week in Aspen.
Sweden
A consolidated championship race took place in Are for the Swedish national championship after the first three days of races were canceled. Six athletes across three events were crowned national champions in downhill, GS, and slalom.

BetMakers ventures into Jamaican horse racing market

Australia-based BetMakers Technology Group has signed a new partnership with Prime Sports Jamaica (PSJ) and Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment (SVREL) – two subsidiaries of Supreme Ventures.
Through its BetMakers DNA (BDNA) and Managed Training Services (MTS) divisions, BetMaker has sealed the rights to manage fixed odds wagering for all fixed bets placed on Jamaican and international horse race meetings through SVREL’s channels.
BetMakers will also distribute data to international online operators from marquee races at Jamaica’s flagship racing track, Caymanas Park, via its Global Racing Network.

The Supreme Ventures Limited (SVL) subsidiary, Supreme Ventures Racing and Entertainment Limited (SVREL) has inked a historic multimillion-dollar sponsorship deal with Australian horse racing betting solutions provider, BetMakers Technology Group, including a five-year sponsorship component that is expected to revolutionise the racing experience at the 61-year-old track.
Executive chairman of SVL Gary Peart made the announcement during a press conference at the Jamaica Pegasus hotel in Kingston on Monday.

Under these agreements, BetMakers has secured the rights to manage fixed-odds wagering for all fixed odds bets placed in horse racing
The company will also distribute and manage racing data for horse racing at Jamaica's leading race track, Caymanas Park, to international online wagering operators
At this point, it's not possible to measure the economic impact of the agreement, but BetMakers believes its revenue will be significantly impacted

A recent report by Frost & Sullivan lays bare the potential for gaming as an economic catalyst. According to the research firm, gaming in the MENA region is estimated to be worth $4.5bn.
The number of Middle East gamers is believed to be over 100 million.
The GCC will account for about 1.5 per cent of the global gaming market revenue by 2025, the report adds. It places Saudi Arabia in the 19th position globally in gaming revenues in 2019, at an estimated $837m. The sector is expected to grow at a 22.5 per cent CAGR over 2019-2025.
