perry prosecuted as an assistant state attorney the first woman put to death here in the state of florida in 150 years. he watched her die and if you do a little homework on him you will realize that for the first time that that woman showed any emotion it was as she was being escorted over to the chair. >> his husband james goodyear returned from the vietnam war in good health but died mysteriously in 1971 after suffering severe stomach problems. then prosecutor perry made the case that judy poisoned him. >> she poisoned him. they had to exhume his body to get the dna evidence or the appropriate evidence and prove that she had poisoned him. >> she was like a black widow who fed off her mates and her young. >> i was a business woman.
a private woman in the community. i was a good mother. everybody knew that. >> and her husband wasn't the only family member she killed. former prosecutor david bigby fold the close casely. >> she was involved in the death of another spouse in colorado, supposedly she was involved in the death of another significant other in alabama. she killed, poisoned and drown her son. and i believe that she was involved in several others beyond that. >> this woman was more or less a serial kill. this woman had a hunger for money and a hunger for death. >> what was her motivation? >> according to judge perry, it was money. in the goodyear case, which she did after she killed him is she was out for his insurance benefits and that is one of the things that was considered when the death penalty was happened down and that is one of the things that judge perry, then prosecutor perry concentrated
opponent in the election case. i believe it won't be murder one. what say you? >> if the jury is struggling for days, possibly weeks with what to do, they will most likely split the baby and come down with a lesser included lesser charge conviction as opposed to murder one. in any circumstancial evidence case the state has to disprove any reasonable hypothesis of innocence. and i haven't seen the state disprove the reasonable hypothesis. >> we were in the defense case and so far his theory may have been advanced a tiny bit but there is no evidence of sexual abuse. >> geraldo: is there a crack in your confidence? >> absolutely not. i'm telling you they will come back and rebut everything brought up on defense and tie it up at closing and i predict she will be convicted. >> geraldo: and they will say grandma is a liar? sphwhrt whole family is liars.

>> geraldo: casey anthony probably is responsible for the death of her child. that is the way the evidence seems to be pointing. what irks me in the case against her is the fact that the state is seeking the death penalty, something seldo seldoe against mothers anywhere in this country even though one thousand children a year are killed by the parents be step parents, boyfriend of the mother, et cetera. though i like judge melvin perry a lot, you saw the case involving the so called black widow here in florida, there is something about judge perry's professional background, mainly the black widow case and some other death penalty cases that must have the defendant casey anthony in this case feeling understandably insecure. here is craig. >> if history is our guide, chief judge perry has no qualms about using the death penalty in capital murder cases like casey anthony.
