'Khosla Ka Ghosla', many times over: This gang cheated 200 plot owners | Gurgaon News

Kavita Rani, Rahul and Ranveer members of property fraud gang arrested by Gurgaon police.
GURUGRAM: Vikram Gujral of Delhi’s Old Rajinder Nagar and Kamal Kishore Khosla of the 2006 blockbuster have an uncanny resemblance. Both of them had bought plots decades ago in the then developing outskirts of Delhi and hoped to build houses when they retired. And during a casual visit to their plots one day, both found their property grabbed by land sharks.
The 2021 edition of “Khosla Ka Ghosla” was unearthed in Gurugram this month when police lifted the veil of a gang that sold plots in Sushant Lok and Palam Vihar by forging documents of their original owners, most of whom are non-resident Indians.

Rakesh Tikait and son take centre stage at mahapanchayats in Bhiwani & Nuh | Gurgaon News

Rakesh Tikait
BHIWANI/NUH: Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait held a mahapanchayat in Haryana’s Bhiwani on Sunday and called for support in intensifying the agitation against the three laws in other states too.
In Nuh, his son Gaurav Tikait addressed another mahapanchayat of 10,000 villagers and asserted that the agitation would continue until the three laws were repealed.
“The farm protest has started to expand to other parts of the country too. So, we decided to go to another state and hold a meeting with farmers and their leaders,” Tikait said in Bhiwani.
The BKU leader also called for unity among farmers of different states, alleging that the government was trying to divide the protesters on the basis of region and religion. “Two government representatives had come to meet me on Saturday, but I refused them. Any discussion with the government will take place in the presence of 40 members of the kisan morcha,” he added.

Gurugram air slips to 'poor', Met says light rain expected | Gurgaon News

Pollution in Gurugram
GURUGRAM: The minimum temperature slightly dipped to 6 degrees Celsius — two degrees below normal — on Saturday due to the dry northwesterly winds in the region.
However, sunshine throughout the day provided some respite from the cold wave. The maximum temperature was recorded at 22 degrees Celsius on Saturday. It was 21 degrees Celsius on Friday.
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light rain on February 3 and 4 due to the fresh western disturbance. “Dry weather is likely to continue over the next 2-3 days with the rise in both minimum and maximum temperatures, after which there is possibility of drizzle or light rain on February 3 and 4,” the IMD official said.

Drive to fix safety flaws on Ggn roads | Gurgaon News

GURUGRAM: At a time when daily accidents are being reported in Gurugram due to lack of road safety measures deployed by various civic bodies, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), along with district authorities, civic agencies and police, is working on creating safer streets for pedestrians as well as motorists.
Responding to the Union ministry of road transport and highways (MoRTH)’s call to observe road safety month from January 18 to February 17, NHAI, in collaboration with the Gurugram district administration, GMDA, and traffic police, on Monday launched a month-long road safety drive. The first location for the drive — ‘zero-tolerance’ against traffic offences — was Golf Course Road.

Gurugram: Misinformation rife, many wary of vaccine | Gurgaon News

There were also some who had medical issues and hence were not given the vaccine
GURUGRAM: The first day of Covid-19 vaccinations in the city received a mixed response. While many were excited and felt privileged to be getting the shot, there were others who had apprehensions about possible side-effects of the vaccine, their anxieties fed by hearsay, rumours and misinformation.
Unsurprisingly, none of the city’s six vaccination centres saw a 100% turnout of those originally scheduled to take the vaccine on Saturday. Several National Health Mission (NHM) workers said they were unsure about the vaccine. An anganwadi worker at Daultabad seemed very worried. “I am a single mother with small children. If something were to happen to me, there is no one to look after my children,” she said. Asked what had triggered this fear, she added, “I had visited a hospital last week to check up on a relative. A person had come there whose hand had been affected due to the vaccine, whereas another had died,” she said, oblivious to the fact the first inoculations were happening only on Saturday.

Gang stole SUVs in Delhi-NCR, sold them in the northeast | Gurgaon News

Picture used for representational purpose only
GURUGRAM: Police on Thursday claimed to have busted a gang of vehicle-lifters that used to steal high-end SUVs in Delhi-NCR, particularly Gurugram, and sell them in the northeastern states by replacing the original number plate with a fake one.
The accused would target only fully automatic SUVs. Once chosen, the gang would break open the vehicle’s lock by a high-end master key that allowed them to circumvent the SUV’s security system, police said. They would then change the registration number of the SUV with that of a scrapped vehicle in the northeastern states and then drive it to Nagaland before selling the same through a network of used car shops.
