Organisers of the U.K. s Glastonbury Festival have cancelled its 2021 edition due to the Covid-19 pandemic for the second year running.
The iconic music event, held annually at Worthy Farm in Somerset, England, will not go ahead, organisers Michael and Emily Eavis announced on the festival s Twitter account.
With great regret, we must announce that this year’s Glastonbury festival will not take place, and that this will be another enforced fallow year for us, they said. In spite of our efforts to move heaven and earth, it has become clear that we simply will not be able to make the festival happen this year. We are so sorry to let you all down. ....

Bette Midler, Kim Cattrall and Michelle Rodriguez were among the A-listers heaping praise on Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, and Garth Brooks for their inauguration performances.
Gaga helped kick things off when U.S. President Joe Biden was sworn in on Wednesday, belting out the American national anthem, The Star-Spangled Banner, accompanied by the Marine band.
Later, Jennifer delivered a touching rendition of folk classics This Land Is Your Land and America the Beautiful, adding the titular line from her hit Let s Get Loud in between as she addressed viewers in Spanish, and country superstar Garth was the final musical performer of the inauguration, singing an a capella version of Amazing Grace. ....

Drake has delayed his new album after focussing on his recovery from knee surgery

The hip-hop megastar was set to release Certified Lover Boy this month, but he decided to push back the release because all of his energy” went into healing from the operation he had last year.
In a statement to fans on his Instagram Story, Drake wrote: “I was planning to release my album this month but between surgery and rehab my energy has been dedicated to recovery.
“I’m blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB won’t be dropping in January.
I m looking forward to sharing it with you all in 2021. (sic) ....

The 79-year-old legend sold the rights to his entire song catalogue - which includes songs that span his 60-year career -to the label in December for over $300 million, but Claudia Levy, the wife of the late Jacques Levy, has claimed her spouse s estate have not received any money from the deal.
Levy - who died in 2004 - co-wrote seven of the nine songs on Dylan’s 1976 album Desire , and Claudia insisted in a claim made to Manhattan s Supreme Court that his estate is owed 35% “of any and all income earned by the compositions” including “35% of the purchase price paid to the Dylan defendants. ....
