These locations, also some thunder and lightning starting to occur in some of these thunderstorms. One thing to note is we do have a Flash Flood Warning in effect for two counties in Southern California, again, just because of the amount of rain that has already fallen, and in anticipation of the amount that is expected to fall over the next 48 hours. We also have flood watches, all of the green you see for numerous states in anticipation of all of that rain that is expected to fall in the coming hours. The storm is expected to weaken further as it really pushes into colder waters in the next 24 to 48 hours. When it finally pushes into california, it will be a Tropical Storm, so, yes, the winds, the overall winds of the storm are going to weaken significantly, but the overall forecast in terms of rainfall really has not changed. We will really start to see a lot of the heavy rain really begin to filter into the area by tonight, especially overnight hours. This will continue off and on

The military is forcefeeding Tariq Ba Odah to keep him alive. The 36yearold detainee now weighs 74 pounds, roughly the weight of a 10yearold boy. Thats less than half what he weighed when he was sent to guantanamo 13 years ago. Ba odah has never been formally charged or convicted of a crime, and he is among the 52 detainees who have been cleared for release by a task force of u. S. National security agencies. Few weeks. Mark had the responsibility of reforming the Consumer Product Safety Commission. It was long overdue. That commission was not exercising its authority and wasnt keeping americans safe as it should. Mark stepped up in a bipartisan fashion, he stepped up, and he ended up strengthening the Consumer Product Safety Commission through his efforts on the Senate Commerce committee. That will keep toxic toys out of stores. Many people recognize what mark pryor contributed in that effort. Parent magazine applauded mark pryor as one of the three movers and shakers in washington in 2005 for his work on the Consumer Product Safety Commission, work that will continue to keep america safer. Mr. Gibson and i joined together to introduce legislation that clarified rules under the doddfrank act with regard to margin clearing and reporting requirements of interaffiliate transactions. What that means is a lot of main street businesses in various industries from agriculture to Consumer Products that work across International Boundaries use this central treasury unit structure to offset competing or offsetting risks and that way they can decide what their total aggregate risk is and then make it much more affordable for a corporation. Unfortunately the way the rules were interpretted by the commodities futures trading commission, these companies were being charged double or triple the cost by imposing these Central Clearing unit ways of managing risk. It just didnt make sense and it actually cost them more money. And these companies did not add systemic risk. Thats what the rules on swaps were all about is to make sure we reduce systemic risks.
