이병헌, 한국 배우 최초-한국 영화인 두 번째 '칸 국제영화제' 시상자 참석

[뉴스토마토 김재범 기자] 올해 칸 국제영화제가 또 한 번 한국 영화인에게 특별함을 선사할 예정이다. 배우 이병헌이 한국 배우로는 최초, 한국 영화인으로는 두 번째로 폐막식에서 열리는 시상식 무대에 시상자로 나선다.

1일 오전 이병헌 소속사 BH엔터는 뉴스토마토에 이병헌의 칸 국제영화제 시상자 참석 사실을 밝혔다. 다만 시상 부문은 아직 미정인 것으로 전해진다. 이병헌의 이번 폐막식 시상은 한국 배우로는 최초다. 한국 영화인으로선 2017년 각본상 시상자로 나선 박찬욱 감독에 이어 두 번째다.

이병헌은 올해 칸 국제영화제에 영화 ‘비상선언’으로 참석하게 됐다. ‘비상선언’은 올해 칸 국제영화제 비경쟁부문 초청작이다. 함께 출연한 송강호가 심사위원으로 활동하게 됐으며 같이 출연한 전도연은 이미 칸 국제영화제 여우주연상을 수상한 바 있다. 때문에 현지에서도 ‘비상선언’에 대한 관심이 뜨겁다.

올해로 74회를 맞이한 칸 영화제는 오는 6일부터 17일까지 프랑스 칸 지역에서 열린다. 작년에는 ‘코로나19’로 인해 사상 첫 온라인 개최로 전환했지만 올해는 예년과 마찬가지로 온라인 개최로 열린다.
