Beyond Rights has amassed a volume of 7,750 hours and a very clear and substantial offering in the unscripted space, in addition to kids, drama and formats. “We have breadth and depth in our key genres such as engineering, lifestyle, wildlife and history, and continue to add content in these and other areas,” says CEO Katy Llewellyn-Jones.
Unscripted programming, she says, is “definitely having a golden moment. Factual producers were able to get back into production more quickly through the pandemic, and there is increased demand both from streamers and from those broadcasters no longer able to acquire content that is now going direct to the streamers—such as content from National Geographic.”

As it gears up for a key new season, producer/distributor Beyond Rights has revealed that it is introducing what it says is a wide range of fresh unscripted content from a variety of different genres leading to a total of more than 200 new hours into the international market.

“With fresh entertainment, engineering, crime, history, lifestyle and natural history content, this new slate continues to build on Beyond’s existing strengths in unscripted while also allowing us to add to our growing formats offer with Saved & Remade,” said Connie Hodson, head of partnerships and business development at Beyond Rights. “We are delighted to be bringing such a diverse range of expertly produced new programming to the international market and are proud to be working with so many new producer partners for the first time, including Red Sky Productions, Fulwell 73, Voltage TV, Breakout Productions, Pernel Media and Saffron Cherry TV.”
