The Supremes Surrender! – Veterans Today | Military Foreign Affairs Policy Journal for Clandestine Services

With every respect the Supreme Court’s decision not to even hear Texas v. Pennsylvania is baffling. Texas Attorney-General Ken Paxton, a good man with respect, and a fine lawyer, assembled some pretty powerful arguments. Whilst Texas, and the states supporting her, could not be heard to complain about the conduct of state elections in other states they had every right to complain about the corrupt conduct in other states of federal elections. This is not the first time the US legal system has buckled of course. There was the same with respect unprincipled resort to arguments about stand...

The team: Barack Obama and Joe Biden / Official White House Photo by Pete Souza Since the final declaration of his victory in the race for the White House, President-elect Joe Biden has been ringing the leaders of the Western world. His first call was to his northern neighbour, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, followed by British Prime Minister Boris Johnson, French President Emanuel Macron and German Chancellor Angela Merkel. Over the last few weeks, he has been hitting the phones, talking to America’s allies, and in some cases her adversaries. But during each of these calls he made...
