s looking close to home. good morning, everyone. at this house where a family of four was found dead friday evening. we have the latest on the investigation next on eyewitness news. good morning, i m kelly at the hospital. two 16-year-old boys are in custody for putting a baltimore city police officer here. coming up, we ll hear from the folks who knew the officer and explain the latest in the case. the news continues. it s wjz, maryland s news station. welcome back to eyewitness news saturday morning. i m gigi barnett. and i m jim williams. it is 56 degrees here and we are looking at a pretty mild day. what could be a damp overnight. we have rain on the way. not quite here just yet. it won t stay mild. you know, it s going to be, the potential for flash flooding is with us, with storms rolling through, nowhere near us just yet. while we have no rain in maryland just yet, that very bright band that expends from @ ohio valley all the way down to the gulf states is moving in this direction, some showers pack a heavy punch. it s going to be moving through in the overnight hours, and late this afternoon. we ll keep you posted. your forecast looks like this. temperatures looking in the 50s. rain heavy at times. tomorrow, it clears out of here. we ll talk about a daytime high of 75. your complete forecast is coming up. first, here s what people are talking about. the g-20 summit wrapped up in pittsburgh. police were out in force as they tried to dispurse the protesters. thousands of peaceful demonstrators marched over the summit. more than 80 people were arrested. and an afghan immigrant has been transferred to new york. zazi is accused of planning to use homemade hydrogen peroxide bombs. he is due in court next week. police find a family of four dead inside their home late last night in frederick county. we have the details, plus brand- new reaction from neighbors. reporter: good morning, everyone. right now there s a lot more questions than answers. investigators spent much of friday night processing the scene inside the house. police tell us they believe it s a husband and wife and their two children who were found dead. dozens of detectives flooded the block after police found four people dead inside this single family house around 5:40 friday evening. arriving troopers went inside and found four people deceased. an adult male, adult female, and two children, a male and a female. police are treating the case as a homicide investigation, although they aren t looking for any suspects. investigators believe the situation is contained to this home. we don t have a search underway for someone who may have been responsible for this incident. reporter: police believe all four victims are part of the same family. they say it s too soon to call this a murder suicide, but they are not ruling anything out. it s really sad. it s shocking. i could not believe something like that could happen. the residential neighborhood is clearly shaken. family friends tell eyewitness news the young female victim went to twin ridge elementary. her teenage brother was on the football team. described as a church going, gracious family, neighbors can t imagine what went wrong. it s a sadness of knowing that there s four people that are in that home are dead and children especially. they seemed like very religious people. they have rocks on their steps and quotes from the bible. so it s very shocking. neighbors say the house has been on the market for two years, but while investigators have in more questions than answers, they can only speculate in how this gruesome discovery unfolded. they probably have a lot of financial difficulty and a lot of stress. they haven t been able to discover what occurred or why it occurred. police have no cause of death for any victims. we ll bring you the latest as we get it. reporting live, wjz eyewitness news. wjz is always on for the latest in this on going investigation. log on to wjz.com. the man who sold a gun that killed former ravens quarterback has pleaded guilty. adrian pleaded guilty to being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm. mcnair s misstress bought the gun and shot the player to death while he slept. she then turned the gun on herself. a baltimore city police officer is in the hospital after being shot several times. it happened during a botched robbery. and now as kelly reports, they have two teens in custody for it. reporter: friends tell us that detective aaron harris wife and his sons have been here at the hospital with him after thursday night he was able to fire his service weapon, hit one of his attackers in the leg and that s what led police to their arrest. within minutes, detectives started scouring for clues and suspects on highgate drive thursday night. an offduty officer had been shot in the stomach and leg during an attempted robbery. police arrested creeing and kavon wilson, both 16 years old. police say the two tried to rob detective aaron harris as he was coming home to this quiet neighborhood. he has been a great neighbor. he has been a great friend of mine. we have had things here, cookouts. really sorry to hear about what happened. aaron harris was off that hospital bed today, he would be out there leading the fight at wats to go and get gun offenders off the street. that s what he does every day. they say he chased the guys. he hit one of them in the leg and i thank god he hit one of them in the leg. detective harris was brought here to the hospital just a few blocks away from his home and the shooting. also arriving here to the hospital was a 16-year-old boy with a gun shot wound to his leg. that s how police found their first suspect. things have to change. gun offenders have to realize that enough is enough and that they have to go to jail and stay in jail. i wish i could say i was surprised. it s been a couple robberies. we don t know what to make of it. we just don t. it s stunning. just last monday, another off duty officer fired his service weapon while being robbed. the officer was not injured. he is not making a connection between the two. i absolutely don t think that they knew he was a cop, but this tells us in a very personal way we still have a lot of work to do. harris is in serious, but stable condition. both boys are in police custody and police have yet to find the .22 caliber pistol they used in the attack. reporting live, kelly, wjz eyewitness news. thank you kelly. police say wilson have juvenile records, but they could not say what crimes they have been charged with before. fire crews are called to battle an early morning fire. it happened just before 2:00 a.m. near towson. officials say a two-alarm fire ripped through a home before firefighters were able to get it under control. no injuries were reported and no word yet on what sparked the blaze. since a huge water main break flooded large portion of dundock area and even though crews are working overtime to fix it, the county says there s a lot of work left. workers are pumping water out of broken pipes. the pipe burst last friday, flooding more than 100 homes. and people in south wrest area are also trying to recover after floods reeked havoc. joe biden got to see the damage firsthand as he toured flooded areas. torrential rain sparked floods across georgia, tennessee, and alabama. at least 11 people have died. that area went from one extreme to the other. they had drought conditions and we are seeing pictures where roller coasters are going in and out of water. it was pretty fascinating. they are getting more rain, unfortunately. we are getting we will, too. yeah, and unfortunately, we are going to get some rain that could cause some flash flooding as well. it s going to be something we keep an eye on in a 12 hour period or so. late this evening into early tomorrow afternoon and then it is done for a while. so take a look. we will give you an idea of what is going on. temperatures are probably in the 50s area wide, up to 60 degrees in some parts of the region. 51 the dew point. relative humidity at 77%. winds from the east at 6 miles per hour, and 30.26 is the barometer reading. we ll take a look at some of this rain moving across the region and it is extending from west virginia, western virginia, and all the way back toward louisiana and the eastern edge of texas. and it is moving in this direction. just take a look at some of the brighter colors here. some very strong storms entrenched in this line. that s what we are keeping an eye on. it extends all the way across atlanta. it drifts right on across into the eastern seaboard. we are going to be watching this as it gets closer. temperatures area wide around the 58-degree mark. about the average, 68 in ocean city. 54 in oakland. a lot of areas falling somewhere between that 56 and rock hall and in columbia and in westminster. 61 down in the nation s capital. that east wind is bringing some cloud cover off the bay and some moisture riding along that. the bigger picture is showing the clouds are a direct relation to all this rain that is moving in. some of the activity really not making its way over as far as rain is concerned. the moisture is evaporating. the rain is really not made it into the region just yet. the way this is all going to time out. we ll start to see the rain get closer and closer by later this afternoon. it will stay with us through the overnight and then start to clear out by tomorrow morning and then by the early afternoon, we ll start to see some clearing and a warmup. this is all associated with another front. and cools us down just a little bit. with all that said, your sunset is at 6:56. a small craft advisory is in effect tonight. we are looking at 65 degrees today. rain this afternoon. 58 degrees tonight. rain could be heavy at times and tomorrow, up to about 75 degrees. a little rain in the morning, then clearing, breezy, and warmer. overall tomorrow, most of the activity today and tomorrow will be fine. it s that window of tonight that will be tricky. so if you are going out tonight, keep the umbrella handy. and close the windows. you are right about that. thank you. going green to save some green, did you know you can save money and protect the environment at the same time? here s mary with some ideas on how you can
