we start with that attempted attack in the heart of new york city. multiple officials confirm to nbc news that this photo is the suspect, akayed ullah. during a press conference about an hour ago we learned three people were just trying to take the subway this morning now have life-threatening injuries. the suspect is seriously injured, as well. officials say he had a low-tech device strapped to his body with velcro and zip ties. the device went off inside of a subway terminal just after 7:00 this morning. mayor bill de blasio had a strong message. when we hear of an attack on the subway it s incredibly unsettling and let s be also clear this was an attempted terrorist attack. thank god that he did not officials say the suspect was inspired by the islamic state, but had apparently not had any direct contact with the terror group. the injured have non-life-threatening injuries and we ll update you on this developing story as we learn more information. we are also ....
