Lake View’s Camp Crescent will have more flags than usual flying during the upcoming Memorial Day weekend thanks to a generous donation from a local veteran. Last week, American Legion 8 th District Membership Chairman and Lake View resident, Ed Rohner, purchased 288 American flags and presented them to the City of Lake View. Last week, Iowa State Bank (ISB) made a significant pledge to the City of Lake View to be used on the construction of a new community center on Black Hawk Lake’s north shore. ISB President, Steve Spotts, presented the $20,000 pledge to Mayor, John Westergaard, who says, “Thank you for your generous commitment and for always supporting our community.” Planning for the estimated $1.45 million structure is already well underway.
