Its the first known case of ebola being transmitted in the u. S. Investigators say its because of a breach in protocol. Jay gray has more. Reporter right now they are very confident about their treatment plan and her prognosis. But there are many here concerned that mistakes inside this hospital could mean even more people have been infected with the deadly virus. A member of the medical team that treated Thomas Eric Duncan who is now in isolation. Doctors say its the first known transmission of the deadly virus in the united states. Were deeply concerned. Reporter a review by the centers for Disease Control indicates the virus was transmitted because there was a mistake by the team treating duncan before his death. But at some point there was a breach in protocol and that breach in protocol resulted in this infection. Reporter officials arent releasing the name of the medical professional who is now a patient. According to a criminal complaint he was a Russian National and he purchased bombmaking equipment on the internet. Investigators asked him what he was going to do with it and he said he was going to blow things up. He was born in moscow, but he lived the last several years in this home with his family in san carlos. Someone told me through the door they would not comment until they got a lawyer. The arrest is a shock to neighbors. They say the family is friendly and quiet. It is scary to think that person was living right across the street from you. It makes you wonder what else is going on.
