TYLER, Texas (KLTV) - You can enjoy the sounds of jazz while benefiting East Texans in need Thursday night.
The University of Texas at Tyler jazz program is hosting a virtual spring concert, due to the pandemic.
In an effort to give back to the community, all the funds raised from the event will go to the East Texas Food Bank.

CROCKETT, Texas (KTRE) - East Texas electric companies are in high gear preparing for frigid conditions forecast for our area.
The Houston County Electric Cooperative serves 15,000 customers in nine counties including Anderson, Angelina, Cherokee, Houston and Trinity. General Manager Kathi Calvert said their preparations for the predicted winter storm started days ago.
“We are making sure all of trucks are stocked,” Calvert said. “All the equipment is running. We have fuel for chainsaws and saws. Linemen are getting prepared, and we have contractors on standby if there is a major outage.”

NACOGDOCHES COUNTY, Texas (KTRE) - Authorities said two of the three children reported missing by Madison County law enforcement on Monday evening have been located safely.
An Amber Alert remains active for 16-year-old Emerald Green. The teen is described a white female with brown eyes and burgundy hair. She was last seen wearing a green ‘Friends’ long sleeve shirt with light blue jeans.

Nacogdoches Police investigating fatal auto pedestrian wreck

NACOGDOCHES, Texas (KTRE) - Nacogdoches police are investigating the death of a person hit by car late Wednesday.
Around 10:45 p.m., an unidentified adult was struck by a silver Toyota Prius in the 3900 block of South Street, a news release stated.
The victim’s identity is not being released until next of kin are notified.
The driver of the vehicle was uninjured in the wreck.
The Nacogdoches Police Department Traffic Division has been at the scene conducting an accident reconstruction.
