Watching as flashlights are moving around up there. As restoration crews shoring things up. It was almost 8 00 tonight before streets reopened and people could stroll through the area, four hours after flames tore through the buildings. Firefighter were throwing things out of window. Reporter flames were out by the time adrianne knowle rushed through, getting texts from her roommate, their building was burning and full of smoke. Four people live in her flat, three in the one above. We have been told well able to salvage thing, passports, computers, all of that. Instantaneously, the roof looked like it exploded with fire. Reporter as passersby shot cell phone video as flames shot through the roof of one and then a second building. Fire apparently start anyway narrow space between the two Wood Structures and many tempts werent hope at time. You didnt see anybody at you will. This stretch of alum rock avenue in east san jose. A few doors down was a triple shooting a year and a half ago. A mandated. This is unrelated but the violence is escalating. The manager was in the kitchen when the shooting started before 10 00. He called 911. I saw he was hurt and said to call the ambulance. The most seriously injured man is in serious and one man was arrested and faces assault. Police are still looking for another suspect. The shooting was everywhere. This is the fifth shooting incident around a vietnamese restaurant this year in san jose and the third in the past week. The most recent was february 14, a mile away from the sports bar. A Security Guard for bboss nightclub was slot and killed after a liquor store shift next door. On february 11 half a mile away ....
Reporter ann, he along with others were literally running for their lives when the fire broke out this afternoon. Its a threealarm fire. It happened around 4 00 at the corner of 15th and church streets. The fire caused is Severe Damage to a house and mixed use building. Witnesses say it appears the fire first started at the house and quickly spread to the building next door. Its a threestory building first floor is a market. Second and third floors are apartments. Now, the good news is no one was injured in the fire. Firefighters did rescue a cat that apparently inhaled some snow cover. We talked to the other than of the first story market. He and his wife were working inside when someone ran inside to alert them about the fire. [ indiscernible ] wheres the fire. I go outside. Big fire. I call 911 right away. The fire is burning on san leandro street near 105th avenue with flames shooting several feet into the air. Amtrak and southern pacific trains have been told not to run in the area because firefighters have hoses across the tracks. There are also lowlying power lines in the area.
