Conservation leader Sara Hamlin finishing master’s studies OXFORD, Ohio Great Bend resident Sara Hamlin has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community. In mid-December 2020, Hamlin will conclude her master’s course of study with a Master of Arts degree in biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly. Since joining the GFP (Global Field Program) master’s in 2018, Hamlin has traveled to Baja, Borneo, engaged with global conservationists in action projects through a new online course, and conducted projects that have made a difference in the Great Bend area. ....
Submitted by Miami University. Milford resident Anne McCarthy has been applying the tools of science, education and conservation to become a leader in the conservation community. In mid-December 2020, McCarthy will conclude her master’s course of study with a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Biology from Miami University through Project Dragonfly. Since joining the AIP (Advanced Inquiry Program) master’s in 2016, McCarthy has traveled to Kenya and conducted projects that have made a difference in the Milford area. Throughout her time in the Advanced Inquiry Program, McCarthy developed a Master Plan – a kind of personal mission statement for what she wanted to accomplish in the program. In many of her master’s courses, McCarthy designed projects that supported this plan, which culminated in a final portfolio, “Hospital Sustainability,” presented in a Capstone course. ....
