The six former Mississippi law enforcement officers who tortured and abused two Black men in a racist attack were sentenced on Wednesday to 15 to 45 years in prison on state charges.
malls in woodland hills. six white former police officers pled guilty to all state charges for torturing two black men in a racist assault. prosecutors say they entered a house without a warrant, they handcuffed the two men and assaulted them with a stun gun and a sex toy for 90 minutes, all the while using racial slurs. they devised a cover up after the officer shot one of the men in the mouth during a mock execution. two men who were attacked, eddie tyrell parker and michael korey jenkins told nbc news about the trauma they still endure. >> this was the scariest moment of my life ever. >> ever? >> ever. >> hurt, embarrassed, humiliated. >> this thing has taken over our life.
willingness to not report excessive force. speaking after these officers had entered into a guilty plea to federal charges, the department of justice officials called this a shameful betrayal of the oath of office. >> these defendants committed heinous acts of violence against handcuffed victims, who they terrorized under the color of law. they repeatedly tased them, tortured them, all under the authority of the badge, which they disgraced. >> during the incident, which lasted two hours, these men were repeatedly beaten. one of them was shot in the mouth during a mock execution. they were doused with milk, grease alcohol and told to shower off evidence of the abuse so officers could get their stories straight. listen to one of the men describe to cnn what he went
it is on duty, and reportedly torturing two black men and having every intention of getting away with it. and federal officers say it is premeditated and organized. the officer did so while operating under the banner of the law. the complaint says that the group of men who are now former deputies called themselves the "the goon squad" because of the willingness to use excessive force and not report it. the ranking sheriff said that the actions of the deputies do not speak for the department, but they say it is a shameful betrayal of the oath of office. this incident lasted two hours, and during one of the incident that one of the men was shot in the mouth of what was a mock execution. both of the men were doused with alcohol, milk, grease and then forced to shower to try to get rid of the evidence of what these officers did trying to get the story right. listen to what one of the men said he experienced.
