SPRINGFIELD, Ill. — More Illinoisans received the COVID-19 vaccine between Thursday and Friday than during any other 24-hour reporting period since the shot has been available.
Just short of 75,000 — 74,965 — were administered. This raised the rolling seven-day vaccination-per-day average to 49,082 doses.
3,660 additional people throughout the state have found out they have the virus. 83 additional deaths were reported.
Labs throughout the state collected 105,085 specimens to be tested.
Statewide hospitalizations went down as of Thursday night to 2,318. 491 of those patients were in intensive care, and 254 of them needed ventilators to breathe.
