Whether im in california or connecticut, montreal or minnesota, the story of South Carolinas success is front and center. Everywhere we go there is excitement and frankly, not a small amount of envy over who we are and what weve been able to accomplish. Its a beautiful thing. But last year i got to experience just how far that word is spreading. In november, as many of you know, we traveled to india on a trade mission. India, of course, is the country of my parents birth. What we need to show americans, immigrants dont take jobs away from American Workers, like some people think. They actually help create jobs, good paying jobs for americans. Over the last few years, our collaboration with the United States conference of mayors has of course, first centered on the practical needs of our cities. But our alliance through the last few years has become so much more as it has established a Solid Foundation for us to build on into the future.
