It’s Tuesday and you know what that means. This week’s action was taped last Wednesday in Garland, Texas, after AEW Dynamite. Well, I’m guessing it was after as the house lights were turned down, probably because a good amount of poepl epeople left after Dynamite wrapped. Red Velvet defeated Alejandra Lion (2:37) Velvet is an entirely different performer from when I first saw her on Dark in January. Also, coming from a lit up arena with a hot crowd that was hot for all the matches made a huge difference. Lion got the advantage with a front facelock and from that position, she raked her long fingernails against Velvet’s exposed back. Ouch. Lion missed a charging knee in the corner and Velvet battered her larger opponent with a pair of clotheslines, a double knee onto her prone opponent in the ropes, and a standing moonsault. Velvet finished Lion with a new finisher (the Final Slice) which starts out like Marty Jannety's Rocker Dropper, but Velvet rolled forward instead of dropping down. Nice finish.

You can see the full episode below, along with a recap: * We start off with the Bucks and Good Brothers talking about when Brandon Cutler slammed their car into a parked minivan at the venue, after which they started calling him Triple C (Car Crash Cutler). Anderson says that three weeks ago when they were leaving Daily’s Place, Cutler accidentally slammed the car door on Don Callis’ hand and said, “Did I get you?” They said Callis no-sold it and then they walked up his pinky was twice its size and he was bleeding. Matt says he asked Callis if he was okay and he said, “No!” Anderson laughs about how Cutler seemed oblivious about it. Callis then came in and showed off his hand which is still messed up, joking that if he still can’t use it in a couple of weeks the doctors are going to just cut off his hand and give him a hook.
Powerhouse Hobbs & Ricky Starks (w/ Hook) defeated Rick Aldridge & Aaron Frye (:31) The Town Business from Hobbs finished off Frye in just 31 seconds. Leyla Hirsch defeated Diamante (2:37) Diamante held her own with Hirsch on the mat for a bit and hit a stunner out of a cazadora and a dropkick in the corner for a near fall. Hirsch came back with a pair of german suplexes and a knee strike. She and Diamante exchanged slaps until Hirsch got sick of that and slapped on the cross armbreaker for the quick tap out. Varsity Blonds defeated Liam Gray & Adrian Alanis (3:39) On a week when the Dark Side of the Ring documentary debuts on his father, Brian Pillman Jr. wore Cincinnati Bengals trunks. Alanis and Gray jumped Pillman Jr. and Griff Garrison before the bell, but got stereo suplexed for their troubles. Garrison hit a high boot and Pillman Jr. came in with a dropkick on Alanis, but Alanis came back with a sling blade.

Your hosts are Schiavone and Wight. If Wight doesn’t promise us a “really big show,” I’m going to be disappointed. (Narrator: He didn’t.) Jungle Boy defeated Danny Limelight (8:32) Limelight looked very impressive here. He went for a springboard senton, but JB got his knees up. JB followed that up with a spinning backbreaker and a stiff lariat. Limelight came back with a single leg crab and pulled JB to the center of the ring, but he escaped and wound up on the apron, exchanging kicks with Limelight. Limelight did a very interesting 619 variant, using the ring post as a fulcrum and swinging around to headscissor JB off the apron and to the floor.
AEW Dynamite (Episode 74) Aired February 24, 2021 on TNT [Hour One] The Dynamite intro aired, and the announce team of JR, Tony Schiavone, and Excalibur welcomed everyone to the show. Jon Moxley made his ring entrance from his usual side stage location. Tony Schiavone announced Paul Wight’s signing, and that he would be joining him on commentary for the upcoming AEW Dark extension appearing on YouTube on Monday Nights. Ryan Nemeth was already in the ring, and we got a brief picture in picture promo where he said he was looking for a starring role. 1. Jon Moxley vs. Ryan Nemeth: Moxley landed a hard right hand slap to Nemeth that put him down. He then landed crossface strikes while he held Nemeth in a kneeling position. Nemeth fired back with a neck thrust, and then landed some knee strikes. Moxley fired back with a back suplex. Moxley applied some finger manipulation, and then landed a chop. Nemeth got a foot up in the corner when Moxley charged in, and then landed a dropkick a moment later.
