Hurricane joaquin is going to stay east enough it maybe not give us too many problems but before joaquin we have a noreaster developing. Flood watching have been posted for just about everything except north of i70 towards hagerstown. 2 to 4 inches or more of additional rain will be possible. Some areas had 5 inches the other night. Heres a look at first alert doppler. Weve had some light showers here but look whats going on. This rain has really picked up here. In Prince Georges County along the beltway here, Central Avenue up towards route 50 and parts of ann arundel county youve been see seeing this rain this morning. The red is 3 plus close to 4 and then 4 or more potentially. These are some of the areas that had the 4 and 5 inch rain totals. Thats why the flood watch is out. There. Theres been heavy rains at times. See the yellows, the oranges, the red. This whole area is moving northeast. This is why i had to raise the yellow alert flag. The bulk of the heavier stuff is south of 64 but getting closer to charlottesville, richmond. Petersburg is seeing it. These lighter showers have lifted to the Northern Neck. Now were seeing these light to occasionally darker green colors. You see them in charles county, st. Marys, across the Eastern Shore and even into senior prince georges. Into prince georges. Solomons seeing a little bit of that just south of leonardtown. Then on 301 and east toward hughesville and aquasco. Highs later on upper 70s and low 80s.
