Why Celebrity Apprentice Australia makes me miss Trump

There is something inherently terrifying about the concept of The Apprentice.
When you witness the horrors perpetuated on other reality TV shows you can at least reassure yourself that if you ever saw a contestant in the real world you could simply cross the street or use the next toilet cubicle.
But The Apprentice raises the far more bone-chilling prospect that you might end up working for one of them. And Celebrity Apprentice raises the prospect you might end up working for
one of them and providing advice on which Instagram filter to use. For this reason I always liked the UK version with Alan Sugar over the US version with Donald Trump. The British cast contained a fair quota of wankers but at least they were recognisable as the same species. Half the US contestants looked like the sort of people who would hack you to pieces with a butterknife while complaining about disrespect.

Surprise twist to McLachlan's 'horror show' interview

Joe Hildebrand on Craig McLachlan’s Seven interview

Craig McLachlan's blockbuster interview with Channel Seven was perhaps the most amazing piece of television ever put to air in this country. Never has something been so simultaneously unwatchable and unturnoffable. If a car crash had sex with a train wreck this is what its offspring would look like.
The first and most obvious lesson is that actors, like royals, should never say anything that hasn't been written down for them by somebody else. The reason for this is the same reason that they keep doing it and it's not because they're too intelligent.

Why the Corby conga is a ratings juggernaut

Opinion

When Schapelle Corby was sentenced to 20 years' jail in 2005 for attempting to smuggle 4.2 kilos of cannabis into Indonesia, few people would have predicted 16 years later Todd McKenney would be publicly apologising on TV for thinking she couldn't dance.
And yet here we are.
Call it the Schapelle shimmy or the Corby conga but when it comes to the question of whether Australia's most famous busted drug mule is also able to bust a move the answer is: Yes she cancan.
True, it is the answer to a question nobody asked but this makes it no less compelling. And that is what makes Corby such a ridiculous and inspired choice for Seven's Dancing With The Stars.
