ABC/Larry McCormackCody Johnson may have five ACM Award nods under his belt, but there are two honors that he's vying for the most: Album and Entertainer of the Year."It's two different things. Album of the Year, that's a win for me, Trent Willmon, Jack Clarke, Cris Lacy, Scott Gunner, all the musicians that were on the album, my band that was on the album [and] our radio team that has worked so hard for our singles to be successful. That's like a group win. And so, that means a lot," Cody tells ABC Audio."Personally, Entertainer of the Year, because I want to say that I am," he shares.Winning the night's highest honor goes beyond a vanity endeavor. For Cody, it's all about his passion for live shows and connecting with fans in person through music."That's what I take the most pride in. The stage is where I'm at home. It's where nothing is wrong, everything's under control, and it's all right here. For 90 minutes, the world is perfect. There's no anxiety. There's no worry. There's no stress. There's no problems," says Cody. "Where I feel the happiest is right there in front of people.""So when you see me onstage, if I get emotional, if I shed a tear or if I'm laughing my butt off, those are real, raw emotions," the Texas native shares. "To spend so much time giving that to people and them giving it back to you, that's a beautiful thing and it would be great to be recognized for that."You can stream the 59th Academy of Country Music Awards, hosted by Reba McEntire, live Thursday at 8 p.m. ET on Prime Video.Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio. That’s all it takes to completely change everything,” Lily says in the trailer.Hoover has previously said the book, which touches largely on domestic abuse, was inspired by her mother's own escape from abuse."If one day you had a daughter, what would you say to her — if she came to you and she said the person she loved was hurting her?" Lily asks Ryle in the trailer. "What would you say to her?"The trailer also shows Lily reuniting with her childhood love Atlas Corrigan (Brandon Sklenar) and seeking support from him. It also flashes back to scenes of them when they were younger. The cast of It Ends With Us includes Jenny Slate, Hasan Minhaj and Amy Morton. If you need help or need help supporting someone else, call the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 1-800-799-7233, or go to thehotline.org. Scott Legato/Getty ImagesVan Halen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007, and not only did the band not perform, few of the group members attended — and bassist Michael Anthony still seems upset about it.“Sammy (Hagar) and I were the only two from the band that showed up, and we weren't even in the band at the time," Anthony shared on The Hook Rocks podcast. "And it was pretty sad, because I turned to Sammy during the show — I forget who was onstage playing — and we were sitting at our table and I go, 'Sammy, could you imagine if all of us, if we were all here and everybody got along and we got up there? We would kick the a** out of this thing. It'd be an induction ceremony that nobody would ever forget.'"He added, "And sadly enough, it wasn't to be."The topic came up as Anthony was discussing the failed attempts at a Van Halen tribute tour following Eddie Van Halen’s death, news of which first came to light in 2022.The reports claimed Metallica’s Jason Newstead was approached by Alex Van Halen to do it, while Joe Satriani was to play guitar, with David Lee Roth also possibly taking part.As for why it never happened, Anthony shared, "All I can say is — I'm not gonna point fingers — but through all of this there was — one of the ingredients was not, let's say, playing ball with everybody else. And that's all I'm gonna say. I'll let you all figure it out. And that's why none of it worked.”But Hagar and Anthony will be playing Van Halen tunes again on Sammy's The Best of All Worlds tour, launching July 13 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Copyright © 2024, ABC Audio.
