Lawyers for former US President Donald Trump have asked for April 2026 to be the date for their client's trial on federal charges of conspiring to overturn the 2020 election result. Trump's team of lawyers said in its review: "The public interest lies in justice and a fair trial, not rushing to judgment" The case is the most serious of four criminal cases facing Trump, 4, and has resulted in dozens of charges against him. Judge Tania Chutkan is due to issue her decision on the date of this trial on 28 August.
