Tomorrow morning. Thats 1 1 2 to three inches of rain probably more than that and then as we look at the rainfall forecast numbers, these are conservative numbers. Im expecting more rain in the hills than we have forecast. Rain so far has been relatively light, but thats going to change overnight. It means the morning commute is going to have a lot of water on the roadways. This is an Atmospheric River coming from the Hawaiian Islands and its focused on us here it goes. Theres the Hawaiian Islands. You see it right up into here and over the next 12 to 24 hours, about 36 hours, well see heavy rain especially in the coastal hills. So thats the overview. The past hour or so getting more and more intense. It looks like downtown San Francisco, marina district, its soak outing there. A lot of it moved further east, danville, moraga, orinda, heavy rain, oakland as well saw 1. 5 of rain so far overnight into these earlymorning hours. So the rain right now is probably the most intense especially across the south. We go to fremont there. You can see about a half inch to threequarters inch of rain per hour there. Just going to stay this way for the next couple of hours until noon. Well see continued rainfall across the south and then well see rain totals increase over the next few hours. Then scattered showers this afternoon. A lot of moisture coming in off the water and moving towards the land and thats why we are seeing intense numbers. To the north bay now, its calmed down a lot for st. Helena, santa rosa, you know, not seeing intense rainfall. Over 3 inches for venado. Santa rosa 1. 9 inches. This is totals so far. Through most of your thursday. As we get a look in San Francisco more of a lighter rain. When we see the darker shades of green it shows where the rain is getting heavier. For san jose a bit of a break now that may last for a few more minutes but the rain will be closing back in. For the east bay seeing a lot of reds here, thats where the most intense rain is over a lot of contra costa and alameda counties. This will still be with us throughout much of the day as this system remains stationary and continues to sling lots of rain right in the middle of the bay area. I will talk more about this. We will learn more about how quick thinking by teachers and staff at the Elementary School saved a lot of lives. First we go to henry lee with what he has learned. Henry . Reporter a motive for this murderous rampage is unclear at this point. They have not yet identified the suspect. What the sheriff is telling us within the last half hour is that he shot and killed four people including two people at the beginning of this rampage on bobcat lane called rancho tehama reserve. The woman who was killed in the beginning of this rampage is the same woman he attacked allegedly back in january. After attacking these two people , he began driving through the rancho tehama neighborhood killing and shooting other people. He did end up at the school, rancho tehama Elementary School and shooting at random where he got out of his car and began opening fire. The parents of a 10 year old boy are suing the city o the parents of a 10 year old boy are suing the city of dublin, california after that boy went flying off a water slide. You might remember this video. It shows the boy going over the side barrier and skidding across the wet pavement. He suffered numerous scrapes in the incident. His parents are now suing for 2. 5 million in damages, including for emotional distress. Water slides are still closed pending further safety testing. There were some frightening moments in the meantime aboard an American Airline flight as it came into miami. A bird flew directly into the planes nose, but this is no ordinary bird strike.
