If one looks at the history of Indian markets, many sectors through a cycle where they will take a liking to a particular sector in such a manner that valuations will go through the roof. Then comes a phase, where the same sector is thrown down the dumps. It was with the IT sector in the year 2000 Then came the infrastructure and real estate sector between 2005 to 2008. The valuations peaked in 2008 and then declined for more than 12 years. By the start of 2020 valuations were in the dumps.
