These largecaps have 'strong buy' & 'buy' recos and upside potential of more than 20%

The way things have panned in the last one month, it is clear that bulls are not in any mood to leave the street. The pattern of the sectoral rotation is visible. Yesterday, it was banking which led the rally while there was a correction in real estate. Today it is auto stock which is leading the rally. Clearly the under current is bullish and if there is no major description coming in, then it is very likely that bullish trend is likely to continue. At this point of time, the preference toward large cap stocks continues as Q4 numbers from large companies are coming in line with expectations. ET screener powered by Refinitiv’s Stock Report Plus lists down quality stocks with high upside potential over the next 12 months, having an average recommendation rating of “buy” or "strong buy". The screener applies different algorithms for all BSE and NSE stocks.

Analysis: For all seasons & good reasons: 5 largecap stocks from different sectors for long-term investors

When it comes to the word “ largecap” a large part of the street still associates it with stocks which form part of Nifty or others which remain in news very often. But there are not so well known largecap names which have outperformed the markets both in bearish and bullish phases. The only common thread is the track record of business going through both good and bad phases and still being able to stand out. As bulls make a comeback, these stocks may get more attention and when bears come they may be able to hold their ground better.

While it might be a bit early to say, but the way things have panned in the last couple of weeks, it is clear that bulls are once again making an attempt to control every corner of the street once again. But because valuations are high, one has to be cautious, while being bullish. The reason why we are being cautious is the fact that while at this point of time tension in the middle east might have come down, but in geopolitical tensions, one cannot rule them making a sudden comeback. Also, clarity has to still emerge on what course of action the US Fed will follow. Also as a thumb rule, one should remember that corrections and consolidation are part of every bull market. We will continue to see them at regular levels. Staying with a select few is better option : 4 real-estate stocks with upside potential of up to 41 %

After the desire to find the next multibagger, probably the second biggest desire is to find the next sector which might see a bull run. If one looks at the history of Indian markets, many sectors through a cycle where they will take a liking to a particular sector in such a manner that valuations will go through the roof. Then comes a phase, where the same sector is thrown down the dumps. It was with the IT sector in the year 2000 Then came the infrastructure and real estate sector between 2005 to 2008. The valuations peaked in 2008 and then declined for more than 12 years. By the start of 2020 valuations were in the dumps. After a phase of strong liking and getting thrown into dumps, comes a phase a move toward normal valuations. But only select companies participate in this process. While they will not get the same price earning multiples, but in absolute terms returns which are more sustainable is the question and the answer is probably, Yes.

Stock picks of the week: 4 stocks with consistent score improvement and upside potential of up to 37%

After a short corrective phase due to global development, both the index and the market breadth have turned positive. But because valuations are high, there are couple of things which one needs to keep an eye upon. First is how the street is reacting to the Q4 result. If the street reacts positively then it should be taken as a sign of strength. Second, it would be better to still be cautious both the amount of exposure one is taking and more importantly the stocks which one is buying should have good fundamentals and the score should have seen some improvement. These selected stocks depict a strong upward trajectory in their overall average score. This implies that there has been a significant improvement in their market outlook in the given time frame.

Volatile yes, but with bullish bias: 5 stocks from different sectors with upside potential of up to 31%

Last Thursday, when everything appeared fine, there was a sudden decline in the Nifty, a drop of more than 200 points in less than 5 mins. There was never and never will be, dearth of explanation of every move of the markets. So, the blame this time was put on basket selling and possible attack by Israel on Iran. Explanations aside, volatility is part of the market and will remain. The only two things one should do, look at how the market breadth has panned out during the volatile phase. Second, stocks, which may be volatile in the short term but the companies are good when it comes to fundamentals. During this volatile phase, it was large cap and more particularly index stocks which led the down move. The fact is that the first phase of volatility is always led by large caps as they have high institutional holdings. But over the long term, they tend to outperform and the drawdown is lower as compared to mid and small caps. So, at times large caps might optically appear to be hammered and that may be an opportunity to look at some stocks with a long term perspective.

stock analysis: What drives the sector is key to long term investments: 5 large cap stocks from different sectors with upside potential up to 19%

There are some sectors where the macro structure is such that for one or the other reasons the overall growth is higher. This is not to say that growth comes without phases of slowdown, but when tailwinds come they are able to take care of all the slowdown and over a period of time, growth is much better. The growth over a period of time ensures that in bearish markets the stocks are able to perform relatively well and when bulls are back they again are able to inch higher.
