If they don t comply? that is really the question here. we ve seen members of the committee say that in the instances where witnesses don t comply, and in this case they re only running up, in the cases of these four people, they re only running up against the document deadline today. next week is the deposition deadline where those four members of the trump orbit are supposed to come and sit with the committee. we knew there would be very little chance that they would comply with documents and that they will come to the committee. in regards to the letter that s being reported that trump sent to them, we haven t seen or confirmed it but it does sort of track with the expectation here, that this was always going to be a fight over executive privilege and whether or not a former president, who is no longer the sitting president in the white house, can actually assert executive privilege over documents that are retroactive, ....

Debt ceiling, is we re simply saying the united states government is going to go ahead and honor the payments we ve already made. we put all this on the credit card, the $5 trillion under president trump, a lot of that i voted for because it was covid relief, but that is all retroactive, retrospective looking. the infrastructure bill that we re talking about, any prospective legislation, that will have to be dealt with at a future debt ceiling. as a matter of fact, andrea, what we should have done and mcconnell even suggested this, leader mcconnell during trump, is we should get rid of this legal fiction that somehow after we ve committed dollars we have to come back and in effect sign off on it. that s a crazy washington-imposed fiction that really puts us in a very difficult place. senator mark warner, thank you so much for clearing everything up. total clarity. i wish. i wish. you bet. thank you very much, sir. thank you. and breaking news from ....

Rescue plan, the republicans didn t support the plan although it was, i believe, a bipartisan plan. perhaps the republicans in washington, d.c., and congress didn t vote for it, but it s a highly popular plan across the country. i think what oxnard is doing is exactly what our intention was to do. it s not every city, it s not one size fits all. every city has different priorities. again, oxnard is a unique city and it s coastal. still a working class city. and so not only are the grocery store workers and the larger supermarkets will benefit but many mom and pop grocery stores in oxnard, too, that will also benefit. this is, of course, a retroactive acknowledge many of the way these workers sacrificed and put their lives on the line in order to serve the pandemic during this pandemic. ....
