senator lopez rushed to the hospital yesterday. she is headed back there today. meantime she is joining us by phone to talk to us a little bit about the events of the last 24 hours. mrs. lopez, what can you tell us about the condition of your friend today? >> i probably know about as much as you all know that she is stable, she is in critical condition. they do have her intube yaleed and when they wake her up she responds to simple commands. i was told she will probably be in icu for at least another week. i know her parents and her husband are there and her sister and her step daughters are with her. >> have you been able to speak to any of the family members? >> no, i left a message for her mother just to let her know that i'm thinking about them and i know that they have got to be going through a horrible time right now, it is really tough for the family members.
