whiteout conditions on the roads. good morning to you. welcome to way too early. after a historic 18-month investigation, the house select committee investigating january 6th has unveiled its full report on the deadly capitol is tack and former president trump s efforts to overturn the 2020 election. at more than 00 pages, the report is broken down into eight chapters that provide details from more than 1,000 witnesses interviews and hundreds of thousands of pages of text messages, emails and other documents. chapter 1 is titled, quote, the big lie, a reference to trump s widespread effort to push false claims about the 2020 election being stolen. the chapter notes that trump made efforts even before election day to delegitimize the election process by suggesting it would be marred by ballot fraud. chapter 2 is titled i just want to find 11,780 votes and focuses on trump s attempt to pressure state and local election officials to overturn the 2020 election result ....

let s talk to steve more about this. steve, the problem is inflation is at decades high. recession around the corner. it s a heck of a one-two punch. you better believe it. the good news is that the inflation rate has come down a little bit the last two or three months, charles. that s good news. we went from almost 9% inflation this past summer to now we re down to about 7.1%. as you just said, that is still the highest inflation rate we ve had in 35, 40 years. so americans are feeling the punch. their wages and salaries have only gone up by 5 or 6%. that s one of the reasons that you reported that credit card debt is going up. people are trying to maintain their standard of living but paychecks are not keeping pace. i m nervous. i think inflation will come down in 2023 from the high rates of 2022. but i also think that the economy shows real signs of slowing down. i pray we don t crash into a recession. but we sure could. charles: steve, that s what i m concerned ....

neil: welcome to opposite day. a big and really big demonstration in washington. this one in support of israel. and a big surprise on inflation. this one all but guaranteeing no rate hikes and maybe for a while. welcome, everybody. i m neil cavuto. i do want to show you something because it s something that you don t often see. a look at interest rates across the board. jaw dropping when you look at how much and how quickly they were dropping and how much stocks are jumping as a result. much more on all of that in just a moment. suffice it to say that because of that big drop in interest rates, mortgage rates could follow suit and your borrowing costs could follow suit. there s no way knowing for sure, but obviously the financial community liked it. now to that other big rally that surprised a lot of folks. because it was a big one in support of israel. you don t hear that these days. hillary vaughn is there on the national mall in washington. hillary? hi, neil. isr ....
