>> neil: welcome to opposite day. a big and really big demonstration in washington. this one in support of israel. and a big surprise on inflation. this one all but guaranteeing no rate hikes and maybe for a while. welcome, everybody. i'm neil cavuto. i do want to show you something because it's something that you don't often see. a look at interest rates across the board. jaw dropping when you look at how much and how quickly they were dropping and how much stocks are jumping as a result. much more on all of that in just a moment. suffice it to say that because of that big drop in interest rates, mortgage rates could follow suit and your borrowing costs could follow suit. there's no way knowing for sure, but obviously the financial community liked it. now to that other big rally that surprised a lot of folks. because it was a big one in support of israel. you don't hear that these days. hillary vaughn is there on the national mall in washington. hillary? >> hi, neil. israeli president isaac herzog said it best when he told this you of 290,000 people gathered on the national mall, "our hearts beat as one." this is about coming together as one jewish family, solidarity standing up against terrorists and demanding hamas let the hostages go. >> hamas' goal was to scare us. those perpetrating the poison of anti-semitism and bigotry around the world are trying to scare us. the jewish people will live for forever. >> it's also about calling out anti-semitism that has made many jewish americans feel unsafe here in the united states. >> do you feel like anti-semitism is on the rise here in america? >> definitely. it's definitely on the rise. it is frightening. >> how does that make you feel? >> unsafe. i mdon't want to hide. the world sees me first as jewish. >> the crowd has heard from a bipartisan group of washington leaders from democrats, chuck schumer to mike johnson. absent from the list, president joe biden. >> do you think the president should be here today to show solidarity? >> do i think? absolutely. i think the -- it's not a far walk. you know, we can clear the aisles for him so he can walk uninhibited. >> and neil, the organizers are say they did reach out to the white house, asked the president to come. they were told he has a scheduling conflict. he's on his way to san francisco for apex. he did give a speech on climate change in d.c. before he left. neil? >> neil: thanks, hillary. we'll be talking to attendees momentarily. first to jeff paul in israel on the war that keeps raging. jeff? >> neil, as this war enters its sixth week, we're learning about some people taken by hamas. just confirming that one of their own soldiers taken by hamas on october 7 is dead. the idf confirming that 19-year-old corporal noah marciano was killed at some point after october 7. she had appeared in a video released by hamas yesterday. israel forces calling that a form of psychological terrorism. corporal marciano had been serving as a lookout at a kibbutz. she was one of the more than 200 taken hostage. many of their families taking to the streets marching from tel aviv to jerusalem. should talk about five days. they're calling on the israeli government to do more to bring them home. pressing them to make some sort of deal for their safe return. israeli president isaac herzog addressing the situation today while attending that pro israel rally in washington d.c. >> 40 days ago, a terrorist army innovated the sovereign state of israel and butchered hundreds upon hundreds of israelis in the largest massacre since the holocaust. let us cry out together never again. never again. never again. never again is now. >> and there's this video that shows a tunnel system connected to a nearby hospital in northern gaza. the images show a house that was being used by a hamas militant. inside that house, there's a tunnel. the idf releasing a video of a basement below the nearby hospital that it says might have been used by hamas to hold hostages. despite the recent calls for a cease fire, it's still very active here in southern israel. we continue to see rockets being fired from gaza in to israel. as we stand out here, neil, it's very loud. we can hear all of that outgoing artillery that israeli forces are send being back to gaza. >> neil: thanks, jeff. meantime, back to this rally in washington. it was unprecedented when you have seen all the roll -- rally lately. congressman jared moskowitz was among the speakers. he's good enough to join us now. congressman, thanks for coming. >> thanks, neil. >> neil: first, your experience in israeli, a meeting with netanyahu and then this rally. israel seems to be pitted against the irony of the hamas p.r. victory on the global stage. i wonder how israelis are responding to that, how you're responding to that. >> well, neil, there's absolutely no doubt that we're losing the hamas propaganda war. we don't have to liberate people from hamas, we have to get the palestinian people away from hamas. it's for israel's security. hamas is willing to kill their own people, kill babies, put them in risk even while israel offers aid to the hospital. hamas turns it down because they want to sell that propaganda to the world, to american kids. working with china and russia is a campaign on tik tok and other social platforms to poison the mind to divide america. it's absolutely unbelievable the amount of misinformation out there. let me give you a key example. we continue to hear about 11,000 innocent civilians. don't get me wrong a lot of civilians have been killed because hamas uses them as human shields. threat tens them or shoots them if they try to do so. in that number, they forget to tell people that there's thousands of thousands of hamas terrorists that are dead that are in that number, right? so it's a real example and a learning lesson here back at home that our enemies in this space, iran, china and russia, that have significant social media operations are using this in order to try to ruin israel in the mind of kids all across the country. we see it, neil. these kids that are tearing down these posters, clawing at them, even being filmed, looks like they have a mental illness. this is digital fentanyl. they have been told online that these hostages are fake. it's a real problem to figure out how to address in the long-term. >> neil: you mentioned hostages as well, congressman. there's a push right now, benjamin netanyahu says that you can't proceed to talk about cease fires or anything close to that until all hostages are freed. that does not look like it's happening. if it did, should hostilities cease? >> well, listen, obviously i got a briefing on that. i don't want to go into details. i hope the talks are going further along. we have to figure out how to get the hostages home. as john kirby said, there's a possibility that some hostages are no longer alive. perhaps hamas took dead bodies in order to increase the amount of hostages that they have. so i know that israel working with qatar and the united states is trying to figure out how to get a deal on the hostages and whatever israel decides to do in their best interest, we shouldn't interfere that is a priority for israel and the united states. they took kids, innocent kids. little babies, moms that are pregnant. this is barbarity that we have not seen. i watched the video in israel. i saw it when i was there. hamas copycatted the nazis. they lined people up and shot the kids in front of the pitch and then shot the parent. burned people alive. made pits of that. that's exactly what was done in nazi germany. >> neil: i did notice a republican of incomes and democrats were united when it came to this. that seems encouraging. >> yeah, we need as much bipartisan support as possible. there is that. there is bipartisan support here. i hope to get a clean israel aid bill as fast as possible. we need to send something to the senate and the president. every day we're waiting. we have thanksgiving break. israel needs that aid package. we have to give aid to the palestinian people. we have to get palestinian people away from hamas. if there's going to be a two-state solution, that won't include hamas. >> neil: congressman, thanks for taking the time. jared moskowitz of florida. meantime, fabio, you know him, famous actor and cover of so many books and magazines. he's wondering how hollywood has been largely silent in this anti-semitism. he speaks out loud about it coming up. meanwhile, the fear of a government shut down. how close are why? >> the house is debating this plan right now. there's bipartisan opposition to the plan offered by mike johnson but they believe there's enough support to pass it. the freedom caucus opposes the bill but johnson indicates he has political capitol on his side. >> i'm not surrenders. we're fighting. you have to fight fights that you can win. i've been at the job less than three weeks. i can't turn and aircraft carrier overnight. >> ironically johnson is doing the same thing that former house speaker kevin mccarthy did with a band aid spending bill. it's thought that republicans will stand behind johnson for now. >> i think that with the clean c.r. was an excuse to house mccarthy. there was bad blood prior to that. people are sick of trying to figure out how to fund the capitol and trying to break the cycle on some of those things. >> democrats oppose johnson's plan to have two new funding deadlines over the winter but this means the government continues to operate with democratic spending priorities. democrats embrace that. >> it's a big win that it's 2023 levels. that's what we said from the beginning and that it doesn't contain any poison pills. i worry that it's two fiscal cliffs but we have to weigh the fact that the senate seems to not have acted. >> if the house passes the bill, the senate is next. the new speaker wrote the bill that could smooth potential gop speed bumps in the senate. neil? >> neil: thanks, chat. i want to go to congressman mark green from tennessee. congressman, first off on this possibility of a shutdown and the new speaker trying to avoid it with the help of democrats that if you think about it doomed the last speaker. are you worried? >> no, i'm not worried. i think he's got the votes from what i can tell. you know, it's a clean c.r. so guys like myself and like you mentioned the freedom caucus, we're going to vote no on it. i think he has the votes. it will pass. we'll keep going. >> neil: do members of some of your colleagues of the freedom caucus a conservative group, not too keen on the the last measure that deemed kevin mccarthy, you don't see that being repeated? >> our big concern right now is the border. i think it's our greatest national security threat. why wanted the border on there. so i think our statement to make to the speaker is look, let's get something for this. but no, i don't think -- i think he's going to get some grace that maybe speaker mccarthy had expired. >> neil: let me ask you about the border. that's a big part of what you do as homeland security chairman. and there's a great deal of worry and got attention because the fbi saying, you know, some undesirables have snuck in. are you convinced that already happened? >> yeah, i don't see how you can assure the american people other wise. we have 1.8 million got-aways. another 20% if you go with ortiz's number, the former border chief. that are here in the country. we don't know who are here. never vetted. the app that was supposed to be the savier to the crisis has worsened the crisis and there's minimal vetting of those individuals that come in at the parts of entry. we have no way to assure the american people there's not hamas cells right here in the country. why else would wray raise that statement? it's a concern. >> neil: jake sullivan did, too. you were the first that raised this. that was pre-hamas attack on october 7. do you think that the hamas attack back then has actually inspired those to get here and do god knows what? >> look, we are -- as far as hamas, hezbollah and iran go, we're the big satan. israel is the little satan. so there's no doubt in my mind that they're currently -- it's been 46 or 47 drone attacks on i'll is military personnel since this started. there's no doubt in my mind that they're plotting against us. in the past, they have attempted to assassinate american citizens. they hate us. we're the big satan. so yeah, we're a target. >> neil: while i have you, sir, because this is in your bailiwick, we're learning how the state department is renewing iraq's electricity weigher. that allows iran up to $10 billion. what do you think of that?
