We remember that case well. Kevin collins would have turned 39 years old last week. Thank you. San jose police have arrested two more suspects in connection with the Home Invasion robbery of an elderly couple. A total of three men behind bars tonight, apparently involved in a threeday crime spree, in all of the crimes, police say that the suspects had weapons and assaulted, every case in san jose. The three men reportedly tied up the couple and ransacked the home. And they stole the cars. The quest for the super bowl championship is on. He was last seen at oak and mesonic talking to a man. That location is just two blocks from where they are now searching. Neighbors say they remember the highprofile abduction 28 years ago. It was very odd that no one had seen anything or couldnt recall anything, and i think the neighborhood would be very happy to know the case is solved now. Reporter we do have some video from 1984 of the search effort for collins. The 10yearold was one of the first missing children to appear on a milk carton. The case and child abduction gained national attention. Here in San Francisco police searched and posted flyers while they followed leads. Collins was never found. Now it appears there is a break in the old case. Sfpd serving a search warrant digging a hole, and recovering bones, bones that are now being examined by the medical Examiners Office as sfpd continues to search for answers ....
Around, and eventually i heard some drilling going on. Reporter police say a cadaver dog picked up a scent under the garage floor. Cadaver dogs indicated the presence of a possible remain under the concrete floor of a garage. The concrete was removed. Reporter police did find bones. The medical examiner says they appear to be animal bones, but additional analysis is under way. The dig happened a block away from the last place 10yearold Kevin Collins was seen on february 10th, 1984. People who lived in the neighborhood when he vanished say his disappearance gripped the community. The whole community was involved. That somehow because the picture was everywhere. We might see the boy. Reporter no one ever saw collin again. Many hope 28 years later, sfpd has some answers for the collin family. Hopefully for the family there is some sort of solace.
