Patty & Bun roast chicken offshoot Sidechick secures permanent site on James Street London Marylebone

Sidechick, the chicken-focused offshoot to Patty & Bun, is to launch its first permanent site in May on James Street in London's Marylebone.
Opening next door to Patty & Bun's own site on James Street, the 50-cover Sidechick restaurant will be split over two floors, with dining rooms on both levels and an open kitchen on the ground floor.
An outdoor terrace area will seat an additional 20 covers.
Property agency Shelley Sandzer secured the site on behalf of the brand.

The restaurant menu will be 'small and simple', focusing on quality, seasonality and flavour.
Corn-fed roast chicken will be central to the offering, available alongside a range of seasonal vegetables, salads and flatbreads.

Andina to open new flagship Peruvian restaurant in Spitalfields

Peruvian restaurant brand Andina has secured a large site on Commercial Street close to its original home on Shoreditch’s Redchurch Street.
Leisure property agency Shelley Sandzer secured the 3,000 sq ft two-floor restaurant, which is expected to open this summer and is billed as a new flagship for the brand.
Andina is part of the Ceviche restaurant group, and is described as a modern all-day dining concept, focused on providing healthy food and drink inspired by the Peruvian Andes.
Classic ceviche dishes of hake and sea bass will feature at Andina’s new site, alongside authentic Peruvian staples such as seafood chowder – known as chupe – and corn cakes.

“The pandemic has been absolutely catastrophic for the hospitality sector,” admits Josh Leon, a commercial property advisor specialising in central London restaurants at global real estate experts Colliers International. “But there is optimism. Fundamentally, behind all the doom and gloom, there is an underlying confidence in London and its cultural and business standing in the world.”
Despite the double whammy of Brexit and coronavirus, the big money on the international restaurant scene continues to pour into prime London postcodes. Leon cites New York import Buvette, a Notting Hill bistro for which Colliers handled the letting, as an example of an international restaurant group that struck a deal during the first lockdown last spring.

Korean fried chicken specialist Wing Wing to open in London’s Chinatown
Korean fried chicken specialist Wing Wing will open a flagship restaurant in London’s Chinatown this spring.
The restaurant, located on Charing Cross Road, will be the third in the capital for Wing Wing, joining its sites in Tavistock Square and Hammersmith.
The three-floor 2,500 sq ft venue will feature event spaces and KTV karaoke rooms alongside the dining room.
Its menu will focus on ‘chimaek’ – a combination of chicken and maekju, the Korean word for beer – with a selection of chicken wings in a variety of flavours as well as burgers, wraps, rice boxes, and salads.
