Today a weak shortwave crosses the Sierra Crest / Western Great Basin and brings just enough moisture to support isolated, high based convection over Mammoth and the Crest. Other than that, mostly uneventful weather for our Forecast Area this week.

The end of May will be mild across California, with a gradual warming trend, but chances of hot weather increase heading into June.

Looks like our region will stay mostly dry today and tomorrow, with the only exception, a low end chance (10 - 15%) of an isolated t-storm over Mammoth and the Sierra Crest Friday. Cooler temps today and Friday as well, brought to you by the Western edge of a cold front sweeping thru the area. Now the upcoming Holiday weekend looks high and dry with seasonal temperatures.
